Z Cult Favorite/Scandal/The Warrior Patty Smyth is one of my all time fave female vocalists. She, like my other fave female vocalists and another Patricia, Pat Benatar, had serious vocals. Strong and edgy but at the same time, feminine and sexy as hell. They were both super cute too. Anyway, I loved early Scandal. Especially "Goodbye To You" from 82 and this, "The Warrior" from 84. Patty, who was friends with Valerie Bertenilli, was asked by her then husband Edddie Van Halen, to join Van Halen right after Lee Roth quit. Of course she declined. But I can see why Eddi asked her. The woman was BAD. "The Warrior" is a bangin' song. Great hook, great production and great lyrics. I LOVE when Patty sings "Bang Bang". Who else here digs this song? She could've probably been as popular and well known as Pat Benatar if she had better material to work with.
I actually prefer Patty Smyth's voice. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

I actually prefer Patty Smyth's voice. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 At times, so do I. I think, more than anything, I've been attached longer to Benatar than Smyth. As a young kid, in grade school, I was in love with Benatar already. So, on a emotional level, I'm more "committed" to Benatar. If that shit makes any sense. But understand, I adore Smyth. I'm in love with her voice. I wish I could "date" her voice. U see what I'm sayin'? SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

Pat Benatar is a favorite of mine too. Ann Wilson is a favorite of mine. Chrissie Hynde is a favorite i was just listening to "My City Was Gone".

Pat Benatar is a favorite of mine too. Ann Wilson is a favorite of mine. Chrissie Hynde is a favorite i was just listening to "My City Was Gone". I'm with ya with Ann. I also had a jones for her as a kid. Ann had a somewhat crazy sounding voice. At times, very "witchy" sounding. Like another one of my childhood crushes, Ms. Stevie Nicks. Stevie and Ann looked and sounded like they were in the occult or some shit. I KNOW I had a thing for them both around the same period. I too thought Ann was hot during her Magic Man phase. As far as Chrissie, that's where u lose me. Besides "I'm Special" which I've always dug, can't really get with Hynde's vocals. Or her looks. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Actually i was just talking about Smyth being easy on the eyes. The rest i was talking about voice. Yeah i agree on Hynde's looks, she's not easy on the eyes at all. Nancy over Ann on the looks, not vocals. I'm lmao on your Stevie and Ann comments. She (Stevie) always seemed high to me bak 'n tha day. Stevie was easy on the eyes and a favorite also.

I love how she breaks it down right after the guitar solo: "Shootin' at the walls of heartache-aaaccchhheee...The warrior..."
She will always be bad ass. I found her to be tough girl cute. Cute as a button but didn't take any s**t from anyone. To this day, I think a collaboration between her, EVH and the rest of the Van Halen boys would've been explosive. Side note: Saw Valerie Bertinelli on one of those weight loss commercials with Kirstie Alley. She's going to be a spokesperson. And she's still cute My author page: https://www.amazon.com/au...eretttruth

I agree on Patty being a touch girl. Same with Benatar. That's one of the things that I dig about them. That and they were both hot. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz.
