BET TOP 25 DANCERS of all time AIRED 4/8

I saw it and some of the names were shocking, but I don't get how Omarion, Usher, or even Chris Brown are recognized ahead of luminaries that paved the way for them.

BTW:

JB-1
MJ-2
Nicholas Bros-3
JJ-4
CHris Brown-5
Prince 6

here is the full list:

Watch BET's "25 Greatest Dancers" Again!
By BET.com Staff

Posted April 6, 2007 - If you didn't see BET's "Top 25 Dancers," hosted by Chris Brown and choreographer Fatima Robinson, when it first aired, check it out again on April 10th @10 p.m. ET/PT.

And here's who made the cut:

1) James Brown

2) Michael Jackson

3) Nicholas Brothers

4) Chris Brown

5) Janet Jackson

6) Prince

7) MC Hammer

8) Savion Glover

9) Beyonce

10) The Temptations

11) Usher

12) Alvin Ailey

13) Jennifer Lopez

14) Bobby Brown

15) Omarion

16) Shakira

17) Cab Calloway

18) Aaliyah

19) Tina Turner

20) Missy Elliot

21) Gregory Hines

22) Rosie Perez

23) Big Daddy Kane

24) Puffy

25) Ciara

This list was really bogus. Somebody tell me if i'm crazy to think that Puffy didn't even deserve to be on this list? Since when did folks consider him a talented dancer? How can Puffy even be included on this list when Sammy Davis, Jr. is nowhere to be found??? That's a mockery. And how in the hell did Chris Brown become a better dancer than Tina Turner, Gregory Hines, or Cab Calloway? I mean are we really suppose to be taking this list seriously??? I was really surprised for them to not include Debbie Allen, Josephine Baker, or Ben Vereen. BET is really a joke.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Fraudulent:

4) Chris Brown -- what's he done?
11) Usher -- let's not lose our perspective
20) Missy Elliot -- you must be joking
23) Big Daddy Kane -- a legend on the mic, but as a dancer? REALLY?
24) Puffy -- you must be joking
25) Ciara -- a Janet clone? really?
13) Jennifer Lopez -- wasn't even the best dancer among the Fly Girls
14) Bobby Brown -- influential, yes. greatest? come on, now. he may not have even been the best dancer in New Edition.
15) Omarion -- Please stop.
16) Shakira -- On THIS list? No way.
18) Aaliyah -- bless her soul, she could sing a little and dance well, but. . .

Too high:

5) Janet Jackson
22) Rosie Perez
6) Prince
7) MC Hammer
8) Savion Glover
9) Beyonce

Too low:
10) The Temptations
12) Alvin Ailey
17) Cab Calloway
19) Tina Turner
21) Gregory Hines

not on the list? Sammy Davis, Jr., Jackie Wilson, and everyone on misfee's list. And there "might could be" some white dancers that would best at least half the dancers on this list, don'tcha think?

hey, people may have not liked her music but Paula Abdul should have been on the list, she was a great dancer..

and...Beyonce maybe a great singer, but a dancer she aint...

its just a popularity contest, which makes me really surprised that Justin Timberlake is not on the list.

I guess when a white male dancer allows a black female dancer on the list to take the fall for a incident that brought her more infamy than he, Conway Twitty would make the list before said white male dancer.

this list means NOTHING TO ME... because michael is NOT number 1... if michael isn't number 1..

SOOOOOooooo TRUE... Paula OUTSHINES beyonce in the dancing department any day.... and beyonce really can't dance... but she can move her butt.. and do those club dances or video dances... but as far as a dancer... beyonce is NOT close to being as talented as PAULA... and this is a 2ND reason why I think this list is irrelevant

that list makes no sense to me. first of all is it fair to list someone like alvin ailey along side beyonce and chris brown? truly ridiculous! obviously he was far better! we're talking 2 completely different styles. one being artistic and the other for pop concerts and videos. i should know, i'm a choreographer. why wasn't debbie allen on the list? and how the hell is chris brown better than usher and hammer? diddy should not be on that list, paula abdul should before diddy that's for sure.

I respectfully disagree wholeheartedly with you on this one. Savion is a BAD dude. I've seen him quite a few times. Prince can't touch Savion and he's way more than just a tapdancer but many don't even know that. I remember Gregory Hines saying how far past him Savion was. It shocked me to hear him say that. Greg was cold-blooded, too.

lol @ Rosie being "too high" at #22. biggrin That's cold.

Let's not forget BET = Viacom = eMpTV = people who don't know shit.

When Jackson dies he will most likely take over the #1 spot. However you must not have seen a prime James Brown. He was a hell of a mover. Very original too. Why the frick do you think MJ idolised him so much?

But could you put Savion in the top 10? Better than Prince, no doubt (who was also on my "too high" list. Past the Nicholas brothers, MJ, Alvin Ailey, Gregory Hines, Sammy Davis, et al? Maybe you can, but I'd think there are 8 folk at least that are "greater" than he.

On a list featuring no Hines and no Sammy Davis, Debbie Allen, et al., it seems Glover is too high. Then again, it IS BET.

So were a lot of black people.

That being said, a lot of white dancers are/were far greater than the Chris Browns, Omarions and Ciaras of the world.
