The B52s new album update

http://www.theb52s.com/news.html

The B-52's have gone back to their Athens, GA roots to record the second half of their long-awaited new album. They are currently in the studio crafting some heavy grooves with producer Steve Osborne (KT Tunstall, New Order, Manic Street Preachers) and programmers Damian Taylor (Bjork) and Pete Davis (New Order).
We project a release of Fall 2007! Keep your fingers crossed and stay tuned. Definitely stay tuned.

Thanks for this info.

Fred Schneider also made some contributions to Sophie Ellis-Bextor's forthcoming dance pop album Trip The Light Fantastic.

I love the B-52's... don't get me wrong, but...

aren't they getting a little old for the same old schtick?

woot!

However, I certainly do hope they try a new approach to their style. I don't want a "Love Shack pt. 2". I want a whole new thang!

There was a long gap before they released 'Cosmic Thing', and look how great that album was!

I hope this hiatus means another top album and hopefully another anthemic hit for them. Despite 'Love Shack', I think they're a rather under-rated band.

Uh, what should they do instead? Rap?

There are plenty of acts in their age group who still record and tour.
