feel the funk was an r&b hit was it not? I only like feel the funk, night time lover, just wanna dance, no more drama and armed & famous, but I don't think she has a good voice. People keep saying her recent music is better than janet's, I gotta hear it

If I'm not mistaken, the only song Latoya Jackson had that landed in the Billboard R&B Top 20 was "Heart Don't Lie," which was carried more by the deluge of Jacksonmania in 1984 (which, unless I'm mistaken, was duet with Howard Hewett) than her own vocals.

I love "Nighttime Lover"-mainly because of MJ's vocals on it. His voice was superb on that song but Latoya has stated in the past that MJ was the one that kept the song from becoming a hit. In her book on the Jackson family, she said he turned down her vocals on the song & changed the production at the last minute because he did not want it to become a big hit and overshadow the success of "Off The Wall" lol. I'm not sure that album would have become a bit hit anyway, but it was a good effort-her first album that is.

I also like some of Latoya's other songs like "If You Feel The Funk", "Heart Don't Lie", "Special Love", "Hot Potato", "He's My Brother", "Free The World" and "SexBox".
"And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ heart

"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always heart

Wow,did he really do that?? disbelief In any case,I think it's a great song.Like many of his compositions,it has a haunting, hypnotic feel to it.The verses sound really mysterious and moody. But if he turned down her vocals, that's a good thing. She's not really a singer lol

It sounds like delusion truly is a Jackson family trait. nutty

I saw Heart Don't Lie on record for $6 and left it behind. I'm not paying that much for a Latoya record!

Is this a joke? Since when did one hit, two hits, no hits artists get greatest hit packages, All those songs you listed I only know a few. "If You Feel the Funk" and "Night Time Lover" I know very well because I used to own the 45's of both. Both by coincidence had "Lovely Is She" as the b-side. I remember as a kid playing that b-side a lot. But that was then and this is now. Other than "Heart Don't Lie" (which the video used to be played all the time on black video shows) what can you possibly get for this package. It doesn't make sense. That's like giving a greatest hit Cd to Eugene Wilde or Thomas Dolby. I used to have a huge crush on Latoya but that doesn't mean she can sing. This package should be flushed down the toilet because that's where it suppose to be anyway.
Peace and be wild!

There are plenty of artist with one hit who have "Best ofs" and "GReatest Hits" compilations. Toy is not the first & wont be the last.

Sun
Rome
B2K

those are just a couple I could think of.

The difference is that those acts, for better or worse, are seen as serious recording artists. Latoya Jackson is considered more of tabloid joke who is the butt of people's laughs. No one looks at her as a credible act.

Are you sick? Are you kidding? Why? That has to be the worst Prince cover song ever to grace the earth. I'll take that back, the second worst. Tom Jones's version of "Kiss" is no. 1. Why did Prince let her record this song anyway? Did he have a crush on her too like myself and so many others? Is that why she made the song? Well, it wasn't a hit so it didn't gain any profit for her or Prince. Just a waste a time. And if you like that song, then you must like Tom Jones too huh? Since we're at it, how about Rebbie Jackson's greatest hit cd? When is that coming out? I'm being sarcastic if you didn't noticed.
Peace and be wild!

I don't know. It's not like Joe Cocker covering "With A Little Help From My Friends", or even Bette Midler's beautiful pop rendition of "In My Life" (I wonder if that is controversal of me to say?) but it's fun.

I agree. It makes me wonder...why didn't LaToya pursue a different career path? She could have been a lawyer or something.Talent does not always "run in the family".

Latoya did graduated from high school and was going to college to become a business lawyer but her father Joesph wanted Latoya to be a sucessful singer/entertainer like Michael.
