"lil L.O.V.E": A collabo with Bone Thugs N Harmony

MC's comment:

I call it `Little Little,’ " she told MTV Europe. "It’s a favorite of mine. It’s a nice song, and I think it really kind of gives you the back-in-the-day Bone vibe but also a very new take on who they are as artists."

Carey said that she and other artists owe a debt to Bone Thugs-N-Harmony because their influence is so widespread in rap and hip-hop. "A lot of times people are like, `I will make up a part,’ and people actually think they made up that part," she said. "But I am so influenced by their style that it kind of merges together. It’s funny, because so many artists today are influenced by Bone, and they may not even realize it."

Bone's LP is expected to be out mid-April.

Duet with Willie Nelson for Tennassee:

Krystal’s (Mariah's character) song is being co-written by Carey and Willie Nelson. Carey hasn’t shot the scene yet (it will be filmed next week), but in another part of the movie, she’ll hint at her influence by singing a bit of Nelson’s "Help Me Make It Through the Night" a cappella, according to the film’s rep.

Tennassee's character:

"This character is really far from who I am in a lot of ways," Carey said. "There are some parallels, some internal things, nothing that people would ever look at and go, `That’s very Mariah.’ But this is not me at all. The character is so not what you would think. This is not about hairdos and ensembles. The girl’s in the trenches. And I’m the third lead, so it’s nice to work with an ensemble cast and to really just be able to do my work and go home at night."

Carey started shooting "Tennessee" in and around Albuquerque, New Mexico, last month. She’s back there shooting this week, before shooting her bar scenes in Nashville and wrapping her one month of production.

New Studio Album:

Jasmine's Juice On Mariah's New Album & Summer Plans

this week I was lucky enough to listen to some of Mariah's new joints for her next album and all I can say is if you thought her last album was the second coming, well, you ain't seen nuthin' yet!

And according to sources, a title has already been chosen, and it's more than one word.

Producers so far:

Michael C.Fox
Polow Da Don (not confirmed)
JD (not confirmed)
Scott Storch (not confirmed)
DJ Toomp
The Runners
DJ Clue
Jon-Jon Trax
Sundafu

Possible Collabos:

T.I
Ne-Yo

thumbs up!

I think someone told BT&H to never record a duet with Mariah Carey again. I'm not sure if they were joking but I'm glad they're collaborating again. Breakdown is one of my all time favorite songs by her. Their unique style seemed to fit perfectly with her melodies.
Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

That's what I like to see thumbs up! a busy, focused artist with alot of things planned for the year. There's alot of lazy artists who never tour and take five or more years to make an album.Mariah seems to be energized and re-vitalized.

6) The Perfume With Elizabeth Arden To Launch:

Popstars certainly spend a lot of time these days in the laboratory developing perfumes. I'll say though that requires quite a multi-talented person to be able to pull it all off.

I know it's not going 2 happen... but I would like her 2 stop working with "hot producers."

U know how Prince hasn't always enjoyed commercial success, but his work is excited I'm not saying Mariah is as good as Prince ('cause she isn't) but it would b cool 2 c her doing a real album with some real producers, or if she wrote all of the songs, no sampling, no rappers. That would b perfect... @ least 2 me. I'd love 2 hear a new album with the "Charmbracelet-vibe" 2 it, but better biggrin

Or maybe I'm stoned

I agree. She should make an album like her debut, all about the vocals!

No rappers please!

Agreed! My favorite song from The Emancipation of Mimi is "Fly Like A Bird",one of the few tracks that doesn't feature any rappers or hip-hop elements. She sounds so much better without all the hip-hop nonsense,

Initially Mimi was to feature more rappers, but LA Reid oposed to it...if I'm not mistaken.

I hope she doesn't more MPLS inspired tunes like she did on Glitter

Deep in my heart I hope she eventually transitions away from the rap collaborations and explores other producers or produced the whole album herself. I can't see her doing this forever but if she is eternally 12 as she says she is, it could be a long time from now. lol

Confirmed producers, so far:

Stargate
Scott Storch
DJ Toomp
The Runners
DJ Clue
Jon-Jon Trax
..

I'm really interested to see what she'll come up with with Stargate, esp. after the excellent remix they did for Thank God I Found U.

Though i'm not really familiar with DJ Toomp, Runners & Jon-Jon Trax,, I wonder if they've got any work i'd recognize

Not really sure why she got Scott Storch, his production on the upcoming MYA cd is the reason the project has been delayed since late last year, ive heard all his tracks with her had to be re-done because the label (motown) was not feeling any of it.

Quite frankly, I don't believe that she is all that great. Yes, she can sing but if it were not for those "hot producers", would she be able to write and sing a great song on her own ? I dunno. While I think her first album was classic, the one's that have followed have been so - so. Her latest album has done well why, because of those hot producers and writers. She like most of today's artist have just bored me to no end.

On his MySpace page, producer Sundafu (pictured with Mariah on right) writes he's currently working on various new records, one of which is Mariah Carey's.

"I am currently producing Angela Via's album, 'Ready To Fly' on Capitol Music Group. Working on Mariah's new record, Whitney's new record, J Hud's new record, Bruce Bonniface's new record, 'Every Day I'm Hustlin'."

T.I Working On Mariah's Album

King T.I. stopped by VIBE today to talk about his forthcoming album TI vs. TIP, movies, and future projects. His interview revealed that he is producing on Mariah Carey's new album.

The King's market acquisition tactics are far from lax. He's working on other peoples' records, and he's got a slew of film projects in the works, too. On the music front, he's been helping BG out with his new record. He's been juicing up his producer game, making beats for artists like Mariah Carey, Cassidy, Rick Ross, Young Joc and Young Dro. "Whether they use the beats or not is up to them," he said.

..

she seems to be going real hip-hop with this record.
