Lead vocals and percussion: Marilyn Manson
Guitars and bass: Tim Skold
Keyboards and electronic drums: Madonna Wayne Gacy
Drums: Ginger Fish

The debut single is set to be "Putting Holes in Happiness", which was described by MM as "a romantic-misogynistic-cannibal-gothic-vampire ballad". However, Marilyn Manson have been shooting a video for "Heart-Shaped Glasses" with director James Cameron. The video will feature special 3D effects. However, this doesn't necessarily mean HSG is the new debut single because it's been reported that MM are making a short-film with songs from the new album and this might just be a scene from that short film. Officially, the debut single is still PHIH.

Rumours say the band has a new guitarist who will tour with them. The new guitarist possibly did some recording for the new album, but the majority of it was recorded by Tim Skold before they found the new guitarist. A member of the SuicideGirls (who appear in the HSG video, apparently top-less) said that the new guitarist was at the video shoot and she described him as "hot".

There will be two versions of the album released. The standard album version and a special collector's edition. The special edition may contain their cover of "This Is Halloween".

I can't wait to hear the debut single. Apparently we might hear it as early as next week. One thing for sure is I am going to keep checking back at marilynmanson.com every now and then because it's likely that they will just randomly put the song up on their website one day as the background music or something. I'm pretty sure we are going to hear something from the new album very shortly.

Apparently it is set for a cinema release in mid-2007. He was going to release it a "very unconventional" way. Some thought that meant he would release it through his website or something. Apparenly that didn't work out and it's going to be much easier to release it the conventional way. There is no specific release date. Just an estimation (mid-2007). I'm pretty sure the filming is finished. They are in the post-production stage for sure. Anyway, here's the promo poster (mayeb also the DVD cover)...

And if you want to know specifics...

Directed by: Marilyn Manson
Produced by: Alain de la Mata
Written by: Lewis Carroll (adapted), Marilyn Manson, Geoffrey Cox, Anthony Silva
Starring: Marilyn Manson, Lily Cole, Tilda Swinton, Evan Rachel Wood
Music by: Marilyn Manson
Release date: mid 2007

i'm looking forward to hearing some new music by him. i just hope it's good. the song titles sound incredibly gothic so i'm guessing it's going to be heavier and darker but we'll just have to wait and see. MM is one of the few rock bands i still like and respect along with the white stripes and AFI.

At last! biggrin I expect a fine new album, he has been recording for 5 years, and the last album was SHIT, so this time he has to deliver a strong record, or he'll have problems: he's not half as popular as he was in the late 90's.

The good part about it is that people who've heard snippets of the music say it's the same sort of style as Mechanical Animals. I like the sound of that!
