Is the Hendrix movie worth renting?

I am at Blockbusters right now and they have this movie called Hendrix, is it worth renting? It came out in 2000, with Vivica Fox and Wood Harris playing Hendrix. Is it worth a look?

Horrible movie! I did buy the dvd though, and me and my brother (who's not even a Hendrix fan) watch it and laugh at the acting and dialouge. They make Hendrix seem like some spaced out, drug addicted hippie, and ne was so much more than that... mad

Pass. Wood Harris is actually pretty good in it but that's it. It's hard to do a movie about Jimi w/out letting any of his music in the flick also. Also the events of the movie are in the wrong order too.

Rent "Jimi Hendrix" (1973) or "Band Of Gypsys"....much better flicks.

I watched it over a seafood dinner. Cracking my lobster was more entertaining

Yeah, the movie doesn't show enough of Hendrix's creative side and it tends to just cap on the drugs, the women and his mood swings. I really have a hard time with movies that dramatise the artists life. I particularly hate when they get people who look nothing like the artist and when they don't get their facts straight. It isn't that hard to do some real research. I had a hard time watching it. I have several documentaries on Hendrix, books and enough to satisfy what I need to know.
