Sorry..... but Ice was a joke and Arsenio called him on it. I remember hearing the interview where Ice dissed Hammer and he flat out lied about it right there. Then the whole thing he said about himself going to school with Luke (from 2 Live Crew) was a lie. This is why today Robert Van Winkle can't stand himself or his past because his whole career was based on his own lies and confusion.

From the "Evel Knievel" look to the "twistibraids/pot smoker" look to the "nu-metal I wanna sound like KORN" vibe..it's all just a joke. Arsenio blasted on Milli Vanilli all those months when they were in the top 10 charts because he knew they really didn't sing. He knew that months before the bomb dropped.

I agree with you..but with a lot of artists or entertainers (whether it's Prince, Tupac, Me'shell, or even Ozzy), they stayed true to their guns of what they set out to do. Wanting to evolve and grow is cool, but when you're not real about it (and you get exposed for it) then that's when backlash comes.

Why didnt Robert bring up how Arsenio is well known for stealing from every "barely" known black comic.

He would to the comedy clubs, watch people's acts, then steal parts of it on his show.

He has been the Poor Man's Eddie Murphy for TV with his talk show & Then Poor Man's Martin Lawrence with his sitcom with Vivica Fox "Arsenio" which lasted like 5 episodes & then finally the Poor Man's Chris Tucker with this "TV Version" of Rush Hour.
