Well thats the way it goes really, why should the show be any different than the way america buys music and goes to movies or reads magazines or lives their lives. Whether its Shanjayas hair or Haleys legs, just those two things make them more popular than the others in the long run, because they have made that kind of impact.

so anwyay, you'd prefer to take the voting out of the hands of the public (on both AI and in the US)?

It's not totally in the hands of the public. One of the biggest problems is that the judges send a lot of crap to Hollywood. That's the point where the weeding out needs to be better.

Of course, that wouldn't be as ratings-friendly, so it'll never happen. Whatever. I'm still waiting for this stupid show to die. It and reality TV in general have had surprising longevity. disbelief

The gambling websites have been so on!! last week they were so correct!! This week they had gina leaving and they were pretty sure about it!!

I think they have an insider sellin them the results!!

at this point, i wouldn't be surprised. i'm going to try to start another AI thread next week, would you let us know what the gambling sites say for next week?

The gambling websites r only gettin the results after the performance!! and the votes have been counted.

Seems like they have been analyzin the data we dont ever see.

Using that data they have come up with the whole process not just one week

dolittle wins by a wide margin

2nd blake

3rd tied jordin and sanjaya

5th chris

Wow, that's very interesting. I could see Melinda winning but the way this season goes, anything is possible.

Somehow, I doubt that girl's going to win. That would go against every trend America has set in the previous seasons.

Gina had a pretty voice, but she didn't annunciate very well. That would hold her back if she had a recording career. I blame it on the tongue ring. I bet she would have sounded better without it. Oh well, she may have a rock career ahead of her.

Gina was my pick to go home. I've never been that impressed with her. In fact I picked the bottom three, forgetting for a moment that another contestant actually can't sing.

Comparing Haley to Sangaya isn't really fair. She's pretty and not great, yes, but she can sing okay at least.

Phil bugs the shit out of me, but I can't deny he's a good singer. Better than Blake & Chris, just not an entertainer, not hip, not making good song choices, etc.

Jordin is my sleeper pick to win. She kind of crept from behind and she's better & better, not to mention really pretty.

But Doolittle is really likeable, too, and a fantastic singer. But she & Kiki aren't very young seeming, so i wonder if they'll get the votes.
