Song 2 was a deliberate - and successful - attempt to a). reinvent Blur's sound and b). appeal to American audiences after the parochial charms of Parklife and The Great Escape had failed to crossover. It's catchy and fun but, ultimately, it's about nothing, just clever boys dumbing down.
My pick is Girls & Boys. It mocked the sleazy delights of the whole Club 18-30 as well as commenting on the UK's sexual mores. Oh, and it saved Blur's career too, which was a great thing because otherwise we would have been debating the merits of Oasis' Roll With It over Roll It Over. There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

Girls & Boys
The early singles are cool too like "She's So High" and "There's No Other Way". I never got into Song 2.

This band is so annoying, like shapeshifter said, song 2 is completely vapid, I dig Girls And Boys more than Song 2.
