Well, it has "Mama's Pearl," "I'll Be There," and "Darling Dear" for starters. It also features some good covers like "The Love I Saw in You Was Just a Mirage" and "Ready or Not (Here I Come)." I'd have to agree that it's probably their best album. That being said, I don't think it fits what you want. There are too many great cuts on their other albums to make Third Album the only must-have. I recommend getting all of the regular albums (10 albums on 5 CDs), but you'd at least need a hits collection (like Gold) to get songs like "The Love You Save," "I Want You Back," "Never Can Say Goodbye," "Dancing Machine," "Looking Through the Windows," "Maybe Tomorrow," etc. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

I love his older stuff, I love some of the stuff Janet's done, but never gotten around to Jacksons/Jackson Five stuff beyond the I Want You Back's and Can You Feel It, if that's the right title. So thanks! I will get me some!

I was saying the J5 don't fit the criterion of having one must-have album. AFAIK, you either need all the hits in a collection or you need all of the (regular) albums. And it should be a crime not to own the J5 Christmas album. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

I forgot Mogwai! Probably because I havent listened to them for a long while. I dont think they have ever topped ´Young Team´ but if you can get your hands on the EP they brought out a few years ago then thats a good a place as any to start. Their last album ´Mr Beast´ was as strong as any of their output I believe but Im yet to listen to it. There's Joy In Expatriation.

Both Richard Swift and Mogwai are currently downloading. I liked what I read about Mogwai so much I kinda went in overdrive with the EP's. They got LOADS of EP's!
I am also getting Smashing Pumkins and lots of Chess albums. Next week will all be about classical music. I am tired of Mozart now. I need lots more.

My fave is Ask Rufus, cuzza the fact the entire album is so damn' good. And cuz it was probably the album that made Prince want to work with Clare Fisher. I sometimes think Parade is nothing else but Prince wanting to recreate Ask Rufus.

I once had the pleasure to see Rahsaan Patterson perform in a TV studio. Just standing there, holding that cigarette, be channelled the kind of finesse I have been missing in R&B for a long, long time. His music breathes, you know. Blue Moon-like, so to speak. It makes me yearn for artists like The Family Stand and Sandra StVictor, Rufus with Chaka Khan and the rest, you know? And Kelis? Hard. I love most her stuff cuz it is HER singing. Almost same with Prince, his voice even makes lame stuff sound better. I love Kelis so much better cuz she knows what writers/producers to pick. And she is cocky and does her own stuff. I probably love her latest the best at the moment, but that is cuz it is still so recent to me.

Heh. We alike in some ways, it seems. It took ONE listen to make I Don't Think So my instant favourite. The chorus. The guitar. I love her mixing styles up. This is beatbox times punk.
I don't think SO! Just great. And I kinda dig Fuck Them Bitches. Just in your face. I like. "That's right I said it."
