The MJ Rumor, and others!

I saw the MJ Hospitalised thread, and thought that I've heard some in my time that have got around to huge effect. Like that Bobby McFerrin was dead in about 1988 or something. Everyone I ever met had heard that one, and most thought it was true (at the time)!

List the rumors here: what others have been big, but hoaxes? I know there are more out there!
