I'm in the studio presently,about 25 songs into the new CD and still writing.I know you'll be happy with the new CD!!! I'm working with alot of young songwriters.Will probably write for another few weeks,pick the songs and compile the CD.

She won a Grammy a year or so ago for a song that nobody knew...so something is getting released.

She's been promising a new studio LP ever since 98's Live And More...Encore was released.

I'm skeptical about this news.I won't believe it until I have the CD in my hands She's been "working on a new album" for many,mamy years and yet it never seems to materialize.

Excatly, You know the history but others probably don't. Her last proper studio CD was 1991's "Mistaken Idenity", a sort of new jack R&B meets AC pop combo which sounded really good but was probably dated at the time and a bunch of personal problems prevented the album from being promoted properly...not to mention I doubt Atlantic really cared since their first hit with Donna was the result of a UK sensation that emerged to the US, requiring them to do very little work except for releasing the album). The closest thing she did to a released studio album in all that time was "Christmas Spirit" from 1994. There have been a slew of one off tracks on her many hits/best of albums that have been released in recent years not to mention a good amount of soundtrack/compilation songs. In 2000, she was signed to Sony (after the release of the semi-successful "Live and More Encore") and she probably recorded an album's worth of songs (some of which have been released here and there...some of the songs can be heard as samples on Donna's site yet the full tracks have never been released). So while it does seem likely that an Indie label might actually embrace this one, you never know...
