some of the canadian bands out there at the moment. admittedly i don't know a lot about some of these home grown groups. but i saw arcade fire on snl's rerun last night and heard alexisonfire play the canadian music award show tonight.

Arcade Fire played on Saturday Night Live on February 24, 2007, performing "Intervention" and "Keep the Car Running". During the performance one of Win Butler's guitar strings broke prompting him to rip the strings from his acoustic guitar and smash it on the floor until it shattered.

i dunno... it looked really contrived an i was kind of disappointed. lots of talent to be sure but smash your guitar on snl?

alexisonfire was interesting. definately not your run of the mill sound. i guess i am just not in the age bracket of their typical audience lol. are either of these bands getting radio play? they seem so different i wonder if they are accepted by regular radio. or does that matter anymore?

i listen to the hip, sloan and billy talent so i wonder if the rest of the world is paying more attention than i am.

i think you can watch the broadcast on line here http://primetime.ctvdigit...primetime/ but my less than broadband connection didn't like it lol so i couldn't preview it for you.

Neither get any radio play at all around here. If the 14 year old mall brats or their yuppie moms don't like you, you're as good as nothing on local radio.
