When it solos like Coltrane I'll consider it.

Oh yeah, it does. Just sample Coltrane. Easy!

Pssh, the 2500 ain't got shit on the 3000.

MPC3000 owns every other drum machine on the planet. With the possible exception of the LM1, lol.

That's not even an original MPC, which was the greatest sequencer ever made, with or without the sampling.

Anything made after the Roger Linn years is inferior.

I still use my original MPC, strictly 4 the sequencing.

Why would U point the finger at a piece of hardware, and not the legion of software available that is making it easy 4 music 2 become as generic as it's become?

U have 2 know how 2 create in order 2 use an MPC.

All of my drum programming is done here, along with some keyboard parts, and samples... My guitar, bass guitar, vox, etc, R recorded "live" on my DAW.

By blaming the MPC, U R essentially questioning every drum machine and sequencer ever made... Don't blame the machine, blame the user.

Peace,

G.

I'm willing to be that Beethoven would cream his pants if he EVER got his hands on Reason 3.0.

Let's have some perspective here: Songwriting, the performing arts, musicianship, etc, all of the things that make going to live shows fun, will never go out style, regardless of the hordes of new fangled technological advances.

That's funny. Cause most musicians who actually make electronic music wouldn't touch it.

Good question in bold. I single out ALL of the MPC series because they were/are the main weapons use for hip-hop.....and hurt the live funk bands in the process.

Reason is overrated. FL Studio is better, IMO! I would know because I use it.

There's no way in HELL that FL studio is better than Reason 3.

Wow, I am really a dinosaur, because I actually took out some sheet music to write a song the other day.

In all honesty, I really don't mind this stuff as tools of convenience for musicians. My problem is that so many folks are so lazy that they are completely dependent on software, drum machines, programming, etc. As I have said so many times around here, I just wish people would take the time to learn about music - to actually know the intervals of scales and what they sound like, to know what chords are and how they sound. To learn about melodies and harmonies. Is that too much to ask?
perfection is a fallacy of the imagination...

The synths within Reason are weak. Even die-hard Reason-users will admit that it's all about the built-in samplers for their production. Also, you can't use other soft synths because of Reason's closed format.
