50 ft. MJ Robot Coming to Vegas?

If Michael Jackson lands a Las Vegas show, a 50-foot robotic replica of the pop star is on the drawing board, Andre Van Pier, the robot's designer, told the New York Daily News. Jackson has seen the sketches, said Van Pier. ..

....from the Las Vegas Review Journal

well i guess he had to do something to top the symbol on the Rio

Do it Michael! DO IT!

Maybe he can top that statue he built of himself during the History album promos!

I mean really, this is the same guy who wrote not too long ago that MJ was going to be building an alien landingstrip in Vegas. This is just more tabloid trash rolleyes.

Michael Jackson wants Vegas robot

Michael Jackson is in discussions about creating a 50-foot robotic replica of himself to roam the Las Vegas desert, according to reports.

The pop legend is currently understood to be living in the city, as he considers making a comeback after 2004's turbulent child sex case.

It has now been claimed that his plans include an elaborate show in Vegas, which would feature the giant Jacko striding around the desert, firing laser beams.

If built, the metal monster would apparently be visible to aircraft as they come in to land in the casino capital.

It is the centerpiece of an elaborate Jackson-inspired show in Vegas, according to Andre Van Pier, the robot's designer.

Luckman Van Pier, his partner at the company behind the proposal, claims blueprints have been drawn up for the show and seen by the star.

"Michael's looked at the sketches and likes them," he told the New York Daily News.

On the subject of the robot, he continued: "It would be in the desert sands. Laser beams would shoot out of it so it would be the first thing people flying in would see."

They could build a 100ft. Robot, Who's gonna prop that old haggard queen up there to perform? It's not like he's married to Sharon Osbourne. Is Michael in performance shape? Michael was the baddest motherfucker cause he was on the grind, he practiced his ass off. Is MJ on the grind again, or is that Negro up in some Vegas Hotel playing Nintendo Wii and Xbox. The whole ostentatious vegas show sounds exciting because it's gonna be done by the most ostentatious performer, but he has to actually perform, unless he's gonna make an animated version of himself like the Gorillaz. Is he gonna release Moonwalker on Dvd, so ppl will get why he wants to make a 100ft robot that can shoot beams from his eyes, or will the media and the causal music listening public interpret this stunt as some new random idea.

I like Robots (not sure if it's true), Large Statues, I think it's all cool (hate Vegas, would like a tour), I buy the hype, but what I don't buy is lip synching and covering his mouth, non performing shit.

The only ppl I feel that will get MJ back on the grind are his brothers. They need money, he needs them, they need him.

Face it , Fellow MJ fans, without his brothers, He's Done!!

Harsh, but I was pretty much thinking along those lines. He's gonna have to work hard to get a lot of people off the fence. The whole robot idea has already turned me off a bit. How very 1995.

His whole problem is that he keeps trying to be bigger & bigger, when the public would respond better to him acting like a regular guy for the first time in nearly 30 years.

Yes because Prince is the first talented/classy artist EVER in the history of the world to perform in Vegas rolleyes. Where have you been anyway? Michael has been performing in Vegas way before Prince since the 70's w/his brothers and this was a time when Vegas was actually still considered a cool place to play at and not a place for washed up has beens like it is today.

Lmfao@people calling MJ fans brain dead. So typical, predictable and sad. Just because you dislike an artist you don't have to constantly hate on his fans as well, it's beyond pathetic with some people but most MJ fans are used to that crap by now, so whatever.

Anyway if anyone actually used their brain for once they would see that this story is clearly BS. I mean imagine building A giant robot shooting lasers near a frickin Airport! They would never let that happen near an airport so the first thing people can see when they land are shooting lasers beams everywhere. Some people need to get a damn clue already and stop believing any and everything the media says-especially when it comes to MJ because 90% of the time their stories about him are complete BS.

The whole problem is not Michael wanting to be bigger, it's the media and non-fans who constantly bring this stuff up. The question is who doesn't want to their albums to sell? Do you actually think that Prince appeared on AI for his health? He wanted to expose his music to a wider audience so that he could sell more albums. He did the Superbowl for the same reason. Since Musicology,Prince has wanted to be bigger. Yet, the media and his fans don't seem to notice that. Why? Again, "double standards" rears its ugly head.
Btw, MJ tried the "regular" guy thing with Invincible by going to a record store signing and doing interviews. If Sony hadn't sabotaged that album, we would have seen much more of the "regular" guy thing. Of course, everything that MJ does is going to be twisted into something else.

Cinnamnon, couldn't have said it better. It really is pitiful how gullible people are. Of course, most of the people who believe this bullshit WANT to believe it because of their hate for MJ. Hate shouldn't cloud logic. Some things are just not logical and this BS story about a 50ft.robot is NOT logical.
