I thought 'The Black Dahlia' was extremely boring. And Scarlett didn't seem right for that part--as if she was too young or something. I can't quite put my finger on it.

I saw 'The Prestige'--pretty good film. She wasn't bad in it. 'Girl With A Pearl Earring' was cool also, but I have a pet peeve about period pieces in other countries where all the actors are speaking English. I've also seen 'The Horse Whisperer' with Kristin Scott Thomas as Scarlett's mother.

The film I'm anticipating the most is 'The Other Boleyn Girl' with Natalie Portman playing Scarlett's sister as they both try to seduce King Henry VIII.

See, I haven't gotten hung up on her age in any part yet, cuz I thought she was closer to my age group. She's pretty versatile.

I don't think she looked too young for the part. It was more like maybe she didn't have the experience yet to pull off that role successfully. The lines she had didn't sound right coming out of her mouth. I dunno. She just seemed off to me whereas in 'Match Point' and 'Translation' she looked much more natural.

I love those Neil Gaiman Death books. He should write a Delirium one shot just for Tori.

Yeah, I can see that. She has such a humorous way of speaking that sounds so natural in those movies you mentioned.

i'm going to throw a big anti-bjork tantrum tonight and rent a couple of pianos and play them at the same time whilst doing soft-folk interpretations of nirvana songs. i might even let a pig suck my tit.

Will you take some datura and communicate with your shadow side? That'd be hot. You should call me and I'll tape you so you'll remember it later.

My favorites are Real Men, Rattlesnakes and Strange Little Girl. The rest of the album does nothing for me. It's not as good as 'choirgirl'. razz

I'm guessing Björk's "unlistenable" album was 'Drawing Restraint 9'?

I like the 3 Bjorks sung songs and the first track with the male vocalist. I think it's Bonnie Prince Billy.

Other than that, I can't really be bothered.

I was gonna ask the same thing.

Well, Drawing Restraint.
And that album with the floating apples.

One got on my nerves, but had occasional brilliance. And I appreciate songsmade up from gurgling Japanese men.

And the Bee Keeper. Well...
It is not BAD. But it ain't brilliant either. I just cannot listen to it in one piece withgout being bored to death, so I just shuffled them through my playlist and then they're kind of okay.

Strange Little Girls is interesting, but to me already was a show of weakness, as cover albums often come. I liked the idea, but often not her choice of songs. Of all the covers she has ever done, she picks Eminem? But hey! I understand how she ticks, in certain ways. It was just not so... appealing to me.

And Scarlet's Walk is where she totally lost me, actually. That was already of such a blandness, when it comes to performance (instr AND the vocal presence) AND songwriting, that I kinda looked for greener pastures, artists that dared to go deep.

I mean, Tori has been so deep that her just being Tori is... well, a tat boring. It is like Kate Bush singing laundry songs.
