They're from NYC, and pretty much hated their first stay at Stax. This one has been on my mind for a couple of days now. I love that song by Shirley Brown.
I also love some Betty Wright, Millie Jackson, The Soul Children, Denise LaSalle, Z.Z. Hill, and Bobby Rush. And don't forget the southern funk such as The Barkays, Con-Funk-Shun, Sho-Nuff, Freedom, Wynd Chymes, and Sparkle. Andy is a four letter word. | |
