As for Stones songs:

- Miss You
- Emotional Rescue
- Beast of Burden
- Start Me Up
- Brown Sugar
- Waiting On a Friend
- Harlem Shuffle

(Hey, imagine if you will the last one on the list as a msh-up with some Alphabet St. samples. That would be way cool!)

Now, how about Prince songs the Stones should cover? Wait, let's not go there...

"Harlem Shuffle" is originally by Bob & Earl from 1963. The Stones put a nice spin on it though. My vote would be "Terrifying" from Steel Wheels.

Wow I would Die if Prince did Hot Stuff and how about Wild Horses and How about Hey Negrita and Emotional Rescue? Damn he already did Miss You and Honky Tonk Woman. And Quite Wonderfully. How about Angie and Dancing with Mr D? Prince I believe can cover Mick's vocal range and Falsetto quite Wonderfully. What a Treat! Pure Pleasure ! Do I hear Toronto ? Do I hear Trudau as in Maggie? Groupie! Groupie! Elizabeth Taylor? Party,Party!

I have a live version of "Miss You" with Sting and Ronnie Wood from Wembley.

"Can't You Hear Me Knockin"
"Slave"
"Tops"
"Tumblin' Dice"

Somehow i can picture his falsetto all over "Emotional Rescue", but I try to block that song from my memory.

It would b something 2 see Prince do "Miss You"...and make it, "Miss U"!

Funky beat, good lyrics, nice bass line, really nice hook... yeah... I can dig it.

considering how UNfunky he made Honky Tonk Women, which is one of their funkiest, how about he just leaves them alone? and leave Bonnie Raitt's shit alone too!

Have you ever heard "Dance Part 2" off of Sucking in the 70's? This version kicks ass and has more vocals. The music is similar but it's more of a song. Might be online somewhere, the cd is out of print unfortunately.

I forgot about that Live version, but I would still like a studio version with better sound quality and Prince's production.

I liked Prince's cover, but he took out the funky cowbell and didn't really add much to it. He should have really funked it up with some cool bass and synth or something, instead it sounds like an average blues band covering it.

Some Girls

Gimme Shelter--if he does it like The War...or puts some ummph to the vocals like Mick did. Not just some rag tag ho hum version like he did with Honky Tonk Women, but sang it with passion and played the fuck outta the geetar while doing it.

Hmmm - Prince doing the Stones. Somehow the first thing that comes to mind is Prince doing Mick (or vice versa) eek
Sorry...

As far as music goes

Waiting on a friend - always one of my favourite Stones tunes. Prince and his band would add just a tad mo flava.

Satisfaction - one of the best R&R tunes of all time. Simple, sophmoric but smokin to all shiznicks and still getting played. Prince could add just a tadd more funk to the track but maintain the raw guitar which makes this song such a gem.

The whole thing, regrettably only on cassette w/o great sound, but worth owning just for the historical significance. He segues it into "The Roof is on Fire"...Truth be toold, it aint that great, but that's probably because the sound is muddy - that, and the fact that I wasn't there.

"This one belongs to you, when I get through it's gonna' belong to ME."
