I don't know anything about Boney M

But I just downloaded this album:

How can I ignore an album cover like that?

Anyway, I've been seeing Boney M albums a lot on my travels lately and the pictures of them have me intrigued. Any fans? Any recommendations? Am I going to hate this? lol

I love Boney M! But you need a compiliation of them rather than studio albums. I have this 2 disc GH and it's good enough

You've got Rasputin and Rivers Of Babylon on your album which are great. But you should also own these:

Ma Baker
Sunny
Daddy Cool
Children Of Paradise dancing jig
Kalimba De Luna dancing jig
Gadda Da Vida dancing jig
Bahama Mama dancing jig

Well listen to those and you'll want to go on holiday to a tropic island or somthing

Well, you've got the essential (if it can really be called that) album of theirs.
I agree with LOA, the best of the rest you'll likely find on compilations.
It pains me to say it, but Nightflight was spun a fair bit many moons ago.
And wait until you see the sleeve for Love For Sale. Hard one to top. lol

My friend's mother still plays the Boney M Christmas album every holiday season. It's a guarantee that every time I pay my Christmas visit to them I'll hear it playing.

Back when I was eight or so my 8-track copy of Nightflight to Venus was my favourite thing in the world, mostly due to the fact that the distorted vocals on the intro sounded just like the cylons from Battlestar Galactica. I picked up a vinyl copy for old time's sake a few years back, and I have to say that, if I'm in the right frame of mind, Rasputin still kicks my ass pretty hard.

I´m definitely NOT a fan but I grew up listening to their music since my dad used to have ALL OF THEIR ALBUMS ! On cassette, of course lol ! They were produced by Frank Farian, a German producer who now lives in Miami and who´s made millions with Boney M and Milli Vanilli. He actually bought the rights to Milli Vanilli´s "Girl You Know It´s True " from that guy who used to be Def Jam´s vice president and who used to be the rapper of the group Numarxx back in the 80´s.

You can still see Boney M on German TV occasionally , doing their thing in whatever incarnation as the members change from time to time. They do a lot of gigs on cheesy TV shows for the older folks here in Germany.
You probably know Rasputin and Daddy Cool. There were some remakes not too long ago.
" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"
