Oscar Brown Jr. wrote something for them in that album, if I'm not mistaken.

I think thats when Ms.Lincoln burned that Marilyn Monroe dress and vowed never to put relaxer in her hair.

The SCREAMING she did in that album makes the hair in the back of my head rise touched

Thanks for the heads up...I don't have that one....

You and I have a friend in Paris who played with Max Roach, and another one in the US who was inspired by him...

Not sure about Betschtable, but I know Chris Henderson played with him...."legend" has it that the first time LP sat down at a drum set, it was Max's....

Miles

I think it's great that Max Roach is still with us, and, I believe, still playing, especially when you remember he was the sticksman on that historic 'Now's the Time' recording date in 1945, with Bird, Diz, Miles, Curly Russell and the rest - nearly 62 years ago eek .

I love reading his interviews. He comes across as fierce but passionate.

We shall not see the like again; the 'Freedom Now!' days of the '40s to '60s, when jazz was newer and more relevant and could say something and people actually took notice, before 'commercial' jazz turned a 'cool' lifestyle accessory.

Maybe it's time for modern master Kenny G to make a stand. His next album could be called -
Kenny G(uantanamo) lol .

I think more $$$s could be generated from a pay-per-view Smack-Down event between him and Pat Metheny. chair
