Robin was not hyped. Robin was a slow build. His first album is over five years old. You may not see his allure but I think overall, his album beats the hell out of a lot of stuff out there.

I dig him because of the lyrics on his albums and I don't give a damn one way or the other that he happens to be white.

If Robin was black, he would be a free agent like Van Hunt, searching for a new record label because Usher, Chris Brown, and Akon are still the black male artists on top in a country (USA) that isn't tried of hip-hop/r&b yet.

I finally got to hear his song this morning on BET J. I've heard people say he sounded like Prince so that's the only reason I sat through the song. Yeah, his voice sounded like Prince but, as for the music, it sounded like "Prince unplugged". There was nothing to it. I was bored as hell. If the rest of his album is like that, he can keep it. A voice like that needs to have some funk behind it, instead of just a boring accoustical guitar reminding me of some damn "Kumbaya".

clapping

People on the org would be calling Robin a Prince copycat if he were black.

As for Nikka. Joss is getting her press after she's did what R. Kelly did to Aaron Hall and jacked Nikka's whole image.
Maybe Nikka should have fucked for tracks. biggrin

R.Kelly definitely jacked aaron hall's style. It is to bad for aaron hall
because he was the original nasty man. R.Kelly just took nasty to a whole new
level by getting it on with 13 yr olds.

I have to agree boxed
Although to be fair, that's just based on the 2 songs I've heard. I'm feeling the same way about Amy Winehouse too.

I like music for my ass, not my brain. I like substance in the music and stripped down music has no substance. I could care less about the vocals.

1. Exactly with you first point! nod

2. Laugh now, but I wouldn't be too surprise if Nikka is thinking about it.

I think NIKKA would be happy just fucking for Drugs, that lady has got some serious issues!

And lo, Robert XXIII did set forth lustfully amongst his sexual organ, and it didsth respond to his fondling in an acceptable manner, not unlike such of that of a mongrel when it is stroked; And there was much rejoicing.

Yeah, I've got it and it's Prince's worst album ever. Dull, dull, dull.

What pissed me off is it was included in the "Crystal Ball" set. They should have lowered the price of "Crystal Ball" and sold "The Truth" separately. That way, I could have left it on the shelf where it belongs.
