Who's the better dancer? MC Hammer or MJ

Back in the 90's MC Hammer challenged Michael Jackson to a dance off. MJ never responded.

In your opinion, who do you think was the better dancer?
Remember when u told me that love was touching souls?
Well, surely u touched mine. O{+>

I'd say Michael Jackson, just because he created his own style and seems more diverse while Mc Hammer was just a James Brown impersonator

confused

Definitely MJ - I really hate that early 90s style of dancing:

I'm allergic to the Gameboyz! Seriously, it's one of those things that when I see it, I get pissed off out of all proportion. Like secretaries wearing "city shorts" (Shorts are fine - city shorts are just ghastly, no matter what your shape.) and the Fiat Multipla. Do a Google image search on that one and I swear you will vomit.

Michael Jackson's pretty much the best dancer ever. He's very versatile. I've seen him do popping, moonwalk/sidewalking stuff, tap dancing, every thing.

BTW do you happen to have the footage of Mike doing tapdancing on the Jackson shows? There´s a bit of it shown in The Legend continues after Fred Astaire´s short clip. Mike´s wearing a white tail-coat with a hat.

No way - Gene Kelly is the best dancer ever. Astaire had the tapping; The Nicholas Brothers had the acrobatics; Calloway had the grace… but Gene Kelly had the imagination and the skill to pull it all together and take it all even further.

That’s why that Volkswagen “Singing in the Rain” advert was so good – if Kelly had been born fifty years later, he’d be the one bodypopping better than everybody else.

No, that´s not the one. He´s really got a white tail-coat on. this is like a normal suit. But these are really cute as well! Mike´s excellent.

Michael Jackson, easily. No one dances like Hammer anymore. Theres a whole new generation of artists comming up that werent even born when Michael introduced the Moonwalk to the world during Motown 25 back in 1983 and they are imitating Mr. Jackson. He is the best.

I remember this incident. MC Hammer call Michael out for a 5 million dollar challenge to find out who was the better dancer of the two of them.

Hammer should be happy that Michael never accepted the match because Hammer would have lost!

neither one of them's learned a dance move since 1991, so what's the point of the question?

See, what makes Michael Jackson an amazing dancer is that he doesn't do "dance moves". He just moves. He's always incorporating new ways of moving his body into his stage show and music videos. Everytime I see him dance he's got something new to offer. His brilliant. There is no one like Michael Jackson. Never was, never will be. That man is something special and I hope Michael Jackson doesn't become another one who people wont appreciate until he's long gone. Hopefully people appreciate that he is the genius of our time before he passes on. It shouldn't take death to recognises greatness (as has been the case with so many music, film and TV legends).

That's brilliant, they really captured the essence of the street dancing of the late 70s, even though it was suppose to be a comedy act.

In the last 15 years I haven't seen any new dance moves from MJ, infact he has become quite repetitive, technical and gimmicky. I would like to see Michael just dance without the crotch grabbing, Moonwalk and just dance as if to say he was dancing in a club.
