I don't know about this: Michael Jackson in Blender magazine In this month's Blender with Biggie on the cover:
Every month they have a "Back Catalogue" feature where they take a look at one artist's CDs and ranks them comparatively with some short reviews and 5 star system. Well this month is Michael Jackson (including The Jacksons LPs), and I am having a hard time with the column "Be Careful". It might as well be called "be careful you don't bite his style: these are all cinnie cee's favorites" [Edited 3/18/07 23:24pm]

Do you have the reviews for all his albums? Or are they the only albums they reviewed?
How many stars is it out of? Hopefully it's out of 3 stars, because there is no way those albums are worth 2 out of 5 stars.

The Jacksons 1976 is a great, funky and soulful album with songs like Enjoy yourself, Show me the way to go, Keep on Dancing and Blues away. The live lp is also great and a testamente to how good they were live.

How in the world did they come up with these lame ratings? SMH. "And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ
"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always

Sorry Cinnie, but I found that funny. How would you rate them all? Which would you give five stars and which would you give just one star?

Out of those four albums the wort in the bunch is Forever, Michael, which at worst is 2 1/2 stars. Everything else should be 3 1/2 or higher. And if anything, Goin' Places should have been their instead of their first CBS release. [Edited 3/19/07 16:15pm] PRINCE: Always and Forever

[Edited 3/19/07 16:15pm] 'Goin' Places' did get two stars, but it was in the 'Check It Out' section. The only Jacksons album to get one star was 'Victory'.

Sorry Cinnie, but I found that funny. How would you rate them all? Which would you give five stars and which would you give just one star? Like some of the ones Blender gave 1 star should get 2 stars. 1 star is like something you rate a Latoya Jackson album, not Michael.

I remember another Blender article that says something about MJ's voice being the most imitated musical instrument in the history of modern recording.
I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

You think Michael/The Jacksons are incapable of making a one star album? That sounds a little fammy.

I totally agree it is! But many don't pull it off as well as he does

what voice were they refering to; his pre-teen voice, his late teens/early 20s voice(where he sounds his best) or his "hee, hee" voice...

Regardless of genre, sex, or age of the performers, its easy to recognize that Jacksonian feel.
