Best and worst opening act Who are some of the best and worst opening acts you ever saw for a concert?
Best- Queens of the Stone age (for Nine Inch Nails) Alicia Keys (for Beyonce on the Ladies First Tour) KoRn (for Linkin Park) Musiq (for Mary J. Blige) Chaka Kahn (for Prince) Worst- Nappy Roots (for Alicia Keys)-mumble mouth rappers, dreadful Mos Def (for D'Angelo)- boring, especially since Q-Tip was supposed to open up

Great freakin topic! Ive seen a million shows so let me do some thinking here!
BEST Cheap Trick (for HEART 1990) Expose (for LISA LISA & Cult Jam 1986) Pat Benatar (for STYX 1997) Hall and Oates (for Chicago 2000) WORST Saigon Kick (for Extreme 1992) Saigon Kick (for Saraya 1991) lucky me got Saigon Kick twice Sean Paul (for Mariah Carey 2006) Mark Morrison (for Keith Sweat and SHADES 1997) mark got booed off stage after one song, he also cursed at the audience which started the booing, I was there for RB girl group SHADES. Ive been pretty lucky to not really have to see many openers despite seeing so many shows in my life. Best
Guns 'n Roses--for Rolling Stones Beck--For Johnny Cash Buddy Guy, Al Green--For Santana Worst (at least my opinion at the time) Red Hot Chili Peppers--for the Bangles, circa 1986 (I'm very embarassed I had this opinion, I didn't know who they were then, just that they were really weird) Kenny G--For Jeffrey Osborne. So goddam boring he made Jeffrey's show look like Kiss in comparison. Kenny got huge immediately afterwards. Some random band--for Danzig. the only time I saw the audience flipping the bird to performers and waving them off the stage tough crowd! My Legacy

Well, I've seen Kriss Kross opening for Michael Jackson in 1993 and Disturbed for Marilyn Manson in 2002 (both were pretty stupid in case you're wondering). Can't really remember whether I've paid attention to others, not that I really go to big shows with opening acts anyway.

Tricky opening for PJ Harvey was the best I've seen. The worst I'd have to give more thought.

A few years later,Ozomatli opened for Santana on the 'Shaman' tour and they were just as good.Santana always picks first-rate bands to open for him.
