I have been impressed with just about every Unplugged performance, because you only get people who can really perform on there.
Lauryn Hill shocked everyone by keeping it real... rusty, but I think that was the point of the series: to showcase raw talent. Nawmean?

omg this is SO GOOD! I am watching a rip from a Japanese re-broadcast of Hole's MTV "Unglued" as Courtney introduced it I forgot she does "You Know You're Right".. one of the last songs that Kurt Cobain wrote and recorded. Nirvana fought over releasing it on the box set. She did "Old Age" too which I read was another Nirvana song "re-worked".

That show was great. My favorite is when she sung "Water". Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

Laundry service has incredible songs like Te Dejo Madrid and Que Me Quedes Tú. Actually "Que Me Quedes Tú" is very special to me. About both volumes of Oral Fixation, I love Fijación Oral Vol. 1...it's perfect! "No" also makes me super moist on my vagina! About Oral Fixation vol.2...it's so dreadful So let's say I'm a shakira fan...but only of her spanish stuff I'm no longer a fan Shakira:

Tori & Bjork both did Unplugged. I don't think Tori's was officially released as an album. There are bootlegs of it though. I don't remember actually watching Bjork's on tv.....I remember Tori's though. Fiona Apple's was nice too. I still have Mariah's Unplugged. It's probably one of the few albums of hers I could still listen to. I saw a list of all artists that performed on Unplugged, and I don't remember a lot of them. I don't think they aired most of the ones listed. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

Eric Clapton. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

CinisterCee, is there any chance you could send me a copy of Hole's Unplugged? I tried to get it off DC++ a while ago on the Nirvana hub but never managed to.
I haven't seen it for years and I love it. The Hole one and Nirvana's are my favorites. I like Alanis' one as well. |

Oral Fixation was I'd rank her records like this (excluding the remixes and greatest hits): Dónde Están Los Ladrones Fijación Oral Vol.1 MTV Unplugged Laundry Service Pies Descalzos Live And Off The Record Oral Fixation Vol.2 Haven't heard her first two albums.

Unfortunately, the only Unplugged perfromances I've heard are the ones I've bought since I wasn't into really watching MTV at the time. Ranked like this:
Nirvana Shakira Maxwell Alicia Keys La Ley The Cure should have released theirs as the bonus disc on the Greatest Hits compilation instead of the lifeless acoustic versions.

The Cure & Annie Lennox...
Lennox did do an unplugged, right? At the end she performed "Dont Let Me Down"...damn, just thinking about that performance gives me chills. Space for sale...

Seriously, his performance of "Freedom 90" was one of the best live performances...EVER I even have it on DVD. Love it.

Dude By Far my favorite Unplugged is Maxwell's
The shit is timeless, his version of This Womans Work and Closer are off the hook! Plus he has so much fun in the performances. I listen to the disc like once a week! Carpenters bend wood, fletchers bend arrows, wise men fashion themselves.
