This is what pretty much turned me into a Mariah fan. Before this album I wasn't that into her although I liked her debut when it first came out. I thought this album was SO hot. I LOVE her version of "I didn't mean to turn you on" Although Robert Palmer's is my song..but this version was so cool too!

That is my favorite track on the cd. That is the best song Rick James had written in 10 years. I love the production and vocals on that track. It reminds me of the Mary Jane Girls. So did Teena Marie ever record this song? I heard Rick wrote it for her but I cant find it on any Lady Tee albums.

My favorite Robert Palmer track! I love his version. It was also a cool switch up on gender stereotypes when he sang those lyrics. So much soul too. I miss him.

I love 80's music and have always liked mariah's music too. At first listen I liked the album but it didn't last very long. I think lead the way, never too far, reflections and want you are the best tracks on the album and I was playing those a lot, but the others, though not bad, weren't really that great to me. I guess I prefer the original songs they sampled from. hmmm maybe it's time I gave it another listen

It makes me wonder if she and Rick could have collaborated in the future. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

I think 'Glitter' is a good album and 'Lead The Way' is one of my favourite Mariah songs also.

This album so deserves the revisits it gets....Mariah really put together a fine pop/funk album that was sadly overlooked.
Just think of all the 80's synths and samples came after GLITTER...heck Gwen Stefani wouldnt have had a solo career without it....or Fergie and re-vamed Nelly Furtado.... GLITTER did use samples...but it did a fine job at doing it..not to mention going straight to the original sources to revamp them! This will be her 'PARADE' for sure... overloooked....but excellent. peace Every minute of last night is on my face today....

I don't think I've ever disagreed with you more! I love Parade and all, but I wouldn't call it better than SOTT. And you're not making me sit through Under the Cherry Moon again. I think that puttin out Loverboy as a single did not help the album. I think it´s the worst song on the album. It seems to happen quite often. Dirrty was also the first single of Stripped and I think it´s the worst song on the album, even though it was a hit. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

it reminded me of 1999 for some reason, probably cause J&L were prince's proteges
