Thanks SoulAlive and Vainandy for schooling me on that time period in 1984. I hadn't even started kindergarden yet when that episode aired, that didn't happen until September of 1984.

Damn! Now I feel old... boxed

Sorry... LOL!

Yep, this weekend is going to have Lace (whoever the hell they are), Whodini, and dull ass Freddie Jackson. This episode is sure to have some dull ass moments. I'll record it but if it has too many dull moments, I'll throw the disc away. Late 1980s....horrible years.....HORRIBLE years.

I noticed they still haven't posted the week after next's episode. Maybe they are reading the org and waiting to hear our reactions so they can decide what to air. lol If so.....

NO MORE LATE 1980s DAMMITT!!!!! Also, after seeing Whodini listed for next week, I think I've figured out their pattern for the 1980s. Almost every episode from the 1980s has featured a rap group. When they air Whodini, they will have aired all the pioneering rap groups that I remember appearing on "Soul Train". They also have aired Rick James, who was big and died in recent years and Levert, who became big in the 1990s and Gerald recently died. Since Prince was huge but didn't appear on the show in the 1980s, they have aired two of his protegee groups. I see a pattern going on. It looks like they are airing artists that paved the way for future decades (which turned out for the worst, even though the pioneers were great).

Dammitt, get up off it and air the funk groups like The Barkays, Skyy, Slave, Michael Henderson, Lakeside, Con-Funk-Shun, The Gap Band, etc. that were successful in the 1980s but didn't make an impact on 1990s and 2000s music.

I agree...no more late 80s episodes! Let's stick with the "golden years" of Soul Train, which is mainly the 70s.

Just saw in the info on my TIVO for the 3-31-07 episode.

It appears it is from 9-7-74 and features
Billy Preston "You're So Unique" and "Nothing For Nothing"
Rufus featuring Chaka Khan "Tell me Something Good"
George McCrae "Rock Me Baby"

That one sounds decent. Although, Billy Preston was just on there a few weeks ago. They need to be fair and air another Rick James episode, preferably either the tribute episode or the one he appeared on with Teena Marie. lol
