Bobby DeBarge OR Eldra DeBarge!

Which is it? This is a hard one cause El is my boy but Bobby voice cant be touched. So there you have it BOBBY is my choice. Truth be told most of the DeBarge brothers have the smoothe falsetto but to me bobby's is the strongest and El's of course is a close 2nd then comes Darrel Debarge and Bobby DeBarge III bobby's son of course. Peep out is myspace page he has 3 songs that cooks and the vocals are tight, he is currently peeping out a label!

I'm going with El hmmm but wasn't Bobby the lead singer on I Call Your Name? Tough choice-but I'll stick with El.

Damn,...I didn't know that. I wrote 2 threads at different times on Switch in the past. "There'll Never Be" and the wonderful "I Call Your Name". Both are all time faves of mine. There is no doubt, to me, that Bobby had the superior voice between the two. Truth be told, neither had strong voices. But Bobby, probably because he was a musician and songwriter, had a better pitch and KNEW how to use his voice for the tracks he was writting. There is no doubt that Bobby and Switch highly influenced Prince AND Micheal. Bobby OWNED that "pretty boy/sensitive, soft voice talking" shit.

In honor of Bobby's memory,
I will not answer this question.

However I will say that I believe that the oldest brother in the Jets can kick the ass of the one with the blondish brown hair.

And that's as close as I'm willing to get to this subject.

El DeBarge gets my vote.

Love Me In A Special Way is a perfect example why.

From Wikipedia:

Robert Louis "Bobby" DeBarge (March 5, 1956 - August 16, 1995) was an American musician and the lead singer of the 1970s Motown R&B group, Switch.

The group (which also included brother Thomas DeBarge) recorded the hits There'll Never Be, I Call Your Name, I Want To Be Closer, Love Over and Over, and My Friend in the Sky.

In the early 1980s, Bobby left Switch and later began producing his other siblings who made up the popular R&B group DeBarge. In 1986 he and his younger brother Chico were arrested for intention to distribute drugs in their hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Bobby and his brother served about 6 years in a federal penitentiary in Milan, Michigan. Bobby died from complications of AIDS on August 16, 1995, aged 39.

Bobby's final musical endeavor was the album entitled, It's Not Over, which included the songs "Thief in the Night", "It's Not Over", and "Good Times".

Stymie

I was a huge DeBarge fan as a teenager but I gotta go with Bobby over El. His voice on I Wanna Be Closer is so sublime.
