Best in order after years of listening...
1. Symphony or Damn 2. Wild Card - nearly as good but Symphony was just too amazing 3. Vibrator 4. Debut 5. Neither Fish nor Flesh If he never released another song, he'd go down as one of the most imaginative for Symphony and later, Wild Card.

dag, i didn't cop anything after Symphony or Damn. i know not to trust mainstream media, but he fell off the edge of the world after that it seems. looks like i've missed quite a bit. off to the used CD store.

Wow it's really great to see so many people appreciate Sananda's music on the org....and damn reading everyone's list I realized I left some great songs off my list ("Do You Love Me Like You Say?", "Delicate" and "T.I.T.S./F&J" of Symphony or Damn and "My Dark Places" off Wildcard).
If I had to list the albums in order (not including Angels and Vampires)... I would say that 1.) "Symphony or Damn," "Vibrator," and "WildCard" are all masterpieces and it's just a matter of taste....all 3 are out of this world. 2.) "Neither Fish Nor Flesh" (a lot of Sananda fans whose opinions I respect rank this album as his best) 3.) "Introducing The Hardline" (it's a great album but it sounds dated, very 80's, and I've heard it too many times so I don't listen to it as much anymore) And "Angels and Vampires" is kind of on a different level than all these albums so it's not fair to compare. I would digest all these albums and then take on Angels and Vampires....Volume 1 is pure magic...but like I said earlier, the sound of the music on A and V is more raw, less produced so some people are turned off by that. And whassup "New Power Soul"...no I'm not Sananda (lol). And Cinister Cee, Sananda does play all instruments (though he uses other musicians as well). He doesn't play guitar as good as Prince or anything (then again who does???) but in my humble opinion his music is much better, very very deep, food for the soul...and his voice is incredible. Introducing The Hardline.. (4 out of 5)
If You Let Me Stay (Makes me so happy) Wishing Well (Overplayed but still great) Neither Fish Nor Flesh (3,5 out of 5) You Will Pay Tommorrow (great JB funk) Billy Don't Fall (love the motown sound on it) Symphony Or Damn (4,5 out of 5) His absolute best!! Delicate (best vocals) Turn The Page (Great message, nice melody) Vibrator (4 out of 5) Holding On To You (Of course, his 'Adore') We Don't Have That Much Time Together (love it how the song turns into something completely different and still makes sence) Wildcard (3,5 out of 5) O Divina (Lovely) Goodbye Diane I have a serious problem liking the Angels & Vampires project, there are some great tracks on it, especially vol. I but I have to listen more I guess. But I must say my favourite TTD song is 'Glad She's Gone', an outtake, it's available on his website. One of the nicest melodies I ever heard. Have you guys heard this? Forgot the ranking edit* [Edited 3/17/07 12:02pm]

1987 - Introducing the Hardline According to Terence Trent d'Arby 1989 - Neither Fish Nor Flesh 1993 - Terence Trent d'Arby's Symphony or Damn 1995 - TTD's Vibrator I did buy his 1st album way back in the day. But I really think I was too young or dumb back then to see his finer points. Still I did like the album alot. I think I was put off by his weirdness, it seemed very false at times. Whereas princes weirdness seemed absolute. 4 the spiritually minded artist like these 2 the eighties were a strange settting.

TTD is an amazing artist. I have to give him a lot of credit for continuing to make music without the backing of major companies. I bet there are tons of people who have never even heard of him or think he hasn't released anything since his first cd. He has one of the greatest voices ever IMHO. I was just listening to Wildcard over the weekend and it blows me away.

Hmmm. Wildcard, I can't wait 2 get my hands on it! Y'know maybe being pushed out on the fringes was actually good 4 his art. I hope his material ambition wasn't big enough to cause him unnescessary grief.

I think he makes great music. It's so much better than the JT type of shit out there right now.

Ranking the albums: Symphony, Vibrator, Fish, Hardline.
Songs: Holding Onto You (Vibrator) Turn the Page (Symphony) Let her Down Easy (Symphony) Seasons (Symphony) ...the more I think about it, the rest of Symphony. C.Y.F.M.L.A.Y. (Vibrator) Billy Don't Fall (Fish) Sign Your Name (Hardline) This Side of Love (Fish) I've heard Wildcard. It's a great find, great collection of songs...but it's never been close to my heart like Vibrator or Symphony. "I got the devil in me, girl." - 'John the Baptist', Afghan Whigs
"Love has no other desire but to fulfill itself."

Does nobody have or rate wildcard?
It was hailed as a "major return to form" by some I've only got "O divina" which is a great song.

Seriously, you have to get it. In fact if I had to choose one album to introduce someone to Sananda's music it would be that one! You have to buy it, you are missing out on some of his best songs ever (ODivina, What Shall I Do, Driving Me Crazy, and many many more).

I don't have "Touch" so I can't comment on it.
I truly can't seperate the songs from The Hardline as I used to listen to that album in its entirety over and over. I truly liked everything on it but it was mainly his voice that was the draw. I can't pick a favorite. For the sake of discussion, I can say that I listened to Dance Little Sister a bit more but I truly liked every song. Neither Fish Nor Flesh did not sit well in my stereo. I've been telling myself for years that I would go back and pull out the cassette and review it again but I have yet to do so. To Know Someone Deeply, Billy Don't Fall and Roly Poly were the only ones that got more than minimal attention with me. I think I liked Roly Poly the best. Symphony or Damn gets a lot of love. She Kissed Me, Do You Love Me Like You Say You Do, Neon Messiah, Let Her Down Easy, Delicate, Wet Your Lips and Castilion Blue got the most play but its a "Damn" good record. Well, that's the first four. Okay, I know...his first four "solo" albums. Supermodel Sandwich, Vibrator, SMS w/cheese, If You Go Before Me and Holding On to You were my favorites from that record. I think I've listened to WildCard more than any of these lately, though. WildCard is a strong CD I own the Joker's Edition but I have all of the songs. Haven't bought Angels and Vampires...but Cee only wanted the first four, so there they are.

as is. I have to listen to that Touch CD, only bothered to listen to it once or twice.
