I like this guy. His "What's The Use" is one of my favorite tracks of last year. He has a good voice, but his voice is a little off at times. His songwriting is very hit and miss, but overall he is good.

I'm embarrassed to admit that my 'introduction' to his work was by way of a Target commercial, but the song it featured has me considering the purchase of either "Multiply" or "Multiply Additions."

LOL!! I'm not embarrassed. I had to do a search to find out who was singing that song 'cause it was driving me crazier! (Hadn't even heard the name before!) I still haven't listened to anything else by him. Is he worth it?

I dig him. Multiply is hot as well as a couple of songs off his other albums. I hope the Target commercial will give him more exposure.

2005's Multiply was such a good album.

It's a great mix of UK soul and electronics. My fave tracks are "What's The Use," the title track, "A Little Bit More" and "When I Come Back Around." He has a melodic voice. There's a sparkle on the tracks. Very recommended.

The remix LP in support of this album Multiply Additions is great, too. Prince's When Doves Cry is even sampled in the Freeform Mix of WICBA.

One of my friends raves about his live shows. I haven't gotten a chance to see him, though.

I saw him live and he was awesome. I'm surprised he hasn't made a bigger impact in the R&B market. shrug

Ive been harping on about this guy on the Org for quite a while now. Unfortunately as good as his live shows are, his performances have become to sleek and polished for my liking. He used to be incredible where he used to create a tune out of multi layering vocals. I first caught him in 2003 at the Sonar Festival in Barcelona. He sang a cover of Prince´s ´Forever in my life´I recall.

If you like Jamie Lidell then I recommend checking out Snax who was recently touring with him (www.snaxonline.org). Also check out his work with Christian Vogel as part of Super_Collider.

I think you'll find that it's "Raspberry Beret" that's sampled.
