From Blender Magazine:

MICHAEL JACKSON
Forever, Michael

star star
(Motown)
Release Date: 2/10/1975

By his fourth album, also out of print, he’d figured out how to use his adult voice and he could make any old claptrap sound passionate. And he had to, because Motown was still saddling him with the kind of material he’d sung as a preteen, plus soggy, groove-impaired orchestrations.

Songs like: We're Almost There, One Day In Your Life, Just A Little Bit Of You, and Dapper-Dan!

awesome album!

I agree. nod It rates fairly high on my all-time MJ list.
I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

When did they review all of MJ's albums? I've been sleeping on Blender.

Yeah cause "Dangerous" is so underrated. It was only the one album release that gathered the most media attention during the years 1991-1993, and being a Michael Jackson album it must have escaped everybody's attention also ever since.

It's only underrated in the sense that it's forgotten. It was a huge album, but by the end of it's promotional run, you-know-what happened and everything took a back seat.

It's not really underrated amongst my generation though (I'm 25), but people 10 years older and 10 years younger, it flies right under their radars.

"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

The funny thing is that you talk about him pretty much as often (or more) as any current fan. There are so many people I've loved in the past and then ditched as their later work wasn't to my liking, but I don't post about them every day.

That´s interesting to me as well. I used to be HUGE Mariah Carey fan, but except for Mimi, all her latest records are really bad for me and in how many Mariah Carey threads can you find me bitching about her?

There are so many ppl on the org who hardly miss a single Mj thread to express their hate and dissapointment such as uPtoWnNY.(Even though I don´t see him in thi thread yet, he especially likes those MJ threads where he is sure there will be plenty to bitch about.)

BTW, Light of Art - where have you been? It seems to me I haven´t seen you at the org lately.

Yep Yep.
The album was unrated and DANGEROUSSSSS! Hee-Hee! biggrin

I would say Dangerous is his most overrated album by his fans.

His most underrated stuff are the albums he did with his brothers; Destiny, Truimph and even Going Places...

Totally agree...Dangerous is a really patchy album. Bad and Dangerous have not aged well at all. His underrated stuff is from the Jacksons albums. Destiny and Triumph are great and have aged really well but its rare to ever hear anything from these now.

I had Forever Michael on 8 Track back in the day and was a fave when I was a kid, but honestly can't remember anything on it.
