Hmm, hard choice, but I think I'd have to go with the Pointer Sisters. They had a lot more hit songs out than Sister Sledge. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I only remember the song "We Are Family" as a Sister Sledge song, but there could have been more. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I guess that`s the only huge hit, but they released plenty of singles, all worth checking out... I prefer the Sledge sisters, because i love their sound, soulful disco

Even though I like Sister Sledge, I'd have to take The Pointer Sisters, Because they do a variety of music. Sister Sledge is best known as a disco group, But they are a little more easier on the eyes.

Pointers Sisters aaaaalllll the way.
Sister Sledge are cool and all, sure, but no competition here Has anyone tried unplugging the United States and plugging it back in?

I think The Pointer Sisters lacked something vocally, there`s just nothing exciting about their voices.
Also, Sister Sledge definitely had the looks.... especially Debbie Sledge

I'd have to say the Pointer Sisters. They had more longevity and a more consistent career. From 1974 to 1986,they were a constant presence on the charts.
I love Sister Sledge, but mainly for the two Chic-produced albums that they released in 1979 ('We Are Family' and 'Love Somebody Today').Their career hit a rough patch in the 80s,mainly because of the disco backlash, which was so unfair.

"Got To Love Somebody" (1980) "All American Girls" (1981) "He's Just A Runaway" (1981) "My Guy" (1982) "B.Y.O.B (Bring Your Own Baby)" (1983) "Frankie" (1985) surely you remember some of those songs?

For some reason, I like the Pointer Sisters better, but Sister Sledge had a better sound and was more urban. The Pointers were more pop...especially after 1979 or 80. Before then, they were some soulful-hard-hitting sisters (remember Car Wash). Besides, the Pointer Sisters (including Bonnie) had a lot more longetivity than Sister Sledge. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-
