Jefferson Ball - Rick James Orgers:
Let's delve into the genius that is the great punk funk king himself. One song in particular strikes a serious funk chord with me and that's - Jefferson Ball. I believe that's where he grew up on Jefferson St in Buffalo NY. I love this song. A romantic ballad full of so much lush progression. I really feel this is one of the many songs by Rick that show off his wide range of songwriting and his ability to play what he hears in his head. The haunting background of the Mary Jane Girls singing behind him on this track is almost reminicint of the Brides of Funkenstiens haunting BG vocals on Funkadelics "How do you view you". It's dramatic, it's theatrical. This song is one of Rick's best. "May I my lady, now may i may lady.....escort you to Jefferson Ball". Yes you may Rick, yes you may. | |

A very cool track indeed  It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

That one's OK but I've never really been able to fully get into it.
A song from that album that I never used to listen to but recently rediscovered and started to love is "Fool On The Street". Andy is a four letter word. | |
