Icicle said: Did he sample Janet Jackson`s "When i think of you"?
No, because Jermaine Stewart's "We Don't Have to Take Our Clothes Off" came out before Janet Jackson's "When I Think of You." Not only that, that's the remix version of "When I Think of You" on your video clip. I personally thought the song was meant to be an ironic and subtle way of telling a woman no, since Jermaine Stewart was gay. I thought it was funny how some activists took the song as a being more high-brow than it was and started using it in some "Just say no"-type promotions. It's a great feel-good song. When it first came out, I'd hear "cherry wine" but think "Cheerwine." Anybody remember that soda? "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Never cared for the song. Too pop sounding. "The Word Is Out" is MUCH better. Andy is a four letter word.

Men. Should. Never. Straighten. Their. HAIR!!!!! Oh yes they should. Not only is it wild and stylish, but it also shows boldness and guts in a man. Men these days are scared to stand out from everyone else. Andy is a four letter word.

I've always associated Arista Records with lightweight music, with obvious pop leanings. This is the record label that signed Milli Vanilli and also signed Sean "Puffy" Combs to the joint venture that created Bad Boy Records, and before that L.A. Reid and Babyface to the venture that created LaFace Records. When acts like Jermaine Jackson and Aretha Franklin came to Arista, their styles changed to pop/adult contemporary. As for Hall and Oates, they signed to Arista at the end of their 1980s run. They produced two albums for the label -- 1988's "Ohh Yeah!," which featured their final top 10 hit "Everything Your Heart Desires;" and 1990's "Change of Season," which featured "So Close" and "Don't Hold Back Your Love." All their other hits came on the RCA label.
