Ok, i know i'm mad late but Robin Thick is WHITE!? yall have to excuse my exasperation. i've seen threads in here, but as far as i knew Robin Thicke was another John Mayer or something. the only time i hear the radio is when i'm in the gym getting my swoll on. yesterday i heard Lost Without You and thought to myself okay, Maxwell must be getting ready to come out again. Was talking with a friend about music yesterday and was told Robin Thick is a white boy. i was like Dag! i would've lost money on a bet on that one. i'm not compelled to by his stuff yet, but his marketing people have to get him out there if there's more where that single comes from. i hate to compare but Justin's people have him playing The Joe (Louis Arena) here in the D (instead of the remote, suburban Palace). this will only solidify Justin's "urban cred" even if Robin is actually more talented. i trust he's probably in the thread about "best white soul singers" then. he's instantly in the top 5 for me on the strength of one single [Edited 3/10/07 16:40pm]

"Mad late" doesn't begin to describe it. I guess you also didn't know he's the son of Alan Thicke and Gloria Loring, huh? "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Alan is Canadian, but Robin is American. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

i know alan thicke from growing pains, the mom's name doesn't sound familiar.
wasn't/isn't Remy Shand Canadian too? Robin sounds like the kind of talent that will cause the remaining "real" music industry execs work overtime to MAKE him a star.

You probably know her voice. Gloria Loring co-wrote the theme songs to "Diff'rent Strokes" and "The Facts of Life" with Alan Thicke. She also sang the theme to the latter ("You take the good, you take the bad..."). She had a hit duet "Friends & Lovers" with Carl Anderson in the mid-80s. Yes he sure is. He looks soo much like his dad, except younger and slightly better looking. Unfortunately, "Lost Without You" was a "moment song" for me. I only liked it for a moment and now I'm done with it and ready to move on. However, I still jam out to "My Love" by JT...it's soo damned catchy. Prince Rogers Nelson
