P-Funk's Anti-Tour I was just looking at some cool Parliament-Funkadelic stuff at Youtube and I found some concert footage from the 1978 Anti-Tour, which to my understanding started after their mammoth Earth Tour. I just got done watching a video where they are performing Cholly and Starchild is as high as a kite. There is also a video with Michael Hampton and some of the original Funkadelic members doing Red Hot Mamma. I noticed that the P-Funk gang aren't wearing any of the flashy costumes and there is no extravagant stage effects during this concert. It looks like a Funkadelic concert from 1971. What was the Anti-Tour all about exactly because it isn't really talked about as much as their other classic tours? Check me out and add me on:

The Funkadelic Anti-Tour started right after Parliament's Flashlight Tour in 1978 with the release of One Nation Under A Groove. George wanted to take the band off a ego trip and get back to the people by playing small halls with no props and just jammin. The wore army fatigues for the lp. Then they went back out as Parliament (the showier side) with the massive Motor Booty Tour and did another Anti Tour after that with Funkadelics Uncle Jam lp. | |
