I heard Rick James' new single "Deeper Still" on the radio yesterday

Not a bad song at all music Anybody hear it yet? Does this mean that the album will finally be released? Before his death,he recorded an album.

It sounds like shit. I'm not surprised though. I will buy the album just in case there might be a good slow song or two on it but I really don't expect to hear any funk on the album (which is fucking rediculous). I have a feeling it's going to be similar to "Urban Rapsody".

It sounds like something I might could eventually come to simply tolerate but right now after hearing a clip of it for the first time, I'm in the....."that shit sounds just like everything else on the radio"....mode which really gets on my nerves because no one wants to get away from the shit that's all over the radio. I want some damn funk, especially when it's someone like Rick James (who is known for funk) releasing an album. Instead it would probably be full of damn ballads and midtempo stuff.

Mostly,I like his vocals on it.Sounds like classic Rick lol

The production is a little too "modern-sounding",but it's a cool track.

Not a very good cut.
It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

I really like this song. I didn't like it at first, but then it started growing on me. WBLS in NY is playing it like crazy.

i agree with you. i think the music does sound too modern. i wish he would have just done some old skool punk funk with a little new wave thrown in for good measure. i'll still buy the album when it comes out though.

I have heard it a couple of times on the radio as well. It is a nice midtempo
track that sounds more 80ish than a current hip hop tune which is a good thing.
RIP-Rick James King of punk funk
Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint
