Your Top 10 Stevie Wonder Songs Given to Other Artists Thinking about all the great songs Stevie has written, I tried to come up with this list. As a huge fan of Marvin Gaye, I can't believe one of his songs didn't make it. I cheated a little -- Syreeta was obviously going to be included, but I decided that my favorite song Stevie gave her is actually on one of his albums.
10. Betcha Wouldn't Hurt Me - Quincy Jones feat. Patti Austin (1981) 9. Loving You Is Sweeter Than Ever - The Four Tops (1966) 8. Tell Me Something Good - Rufus feat. Chaka Khan (1974) 7. I Can't Help It - Michael Jackson (1979) 6. Come Back As a Flower - Stevie Wonder feat. Syreeta (1979) 5. You Are My Heaven - Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway (1980) 4. Let's Get Serious - Jermaine Jackson (1980) 3. Until You Come Back to Me (That's What I'm Gonna Do) - Aretha Franklin (1973) 2. The Tears of a Clown - Smokey Robinson & The Miracles (1970) 1. It's a Shame - The Spinners (1970) It was a tough call -- the top 5 are all absolutely fantastic. Hell, they're all great. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Kind of like Prince did with "Kiss" and Mazarati. ______________________________________________

tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 From Blow by Blow??? I had no idea that was a Wonder song. I only have the cassette version of the album, and doesn't contain the song-writing credits. I wonder if there is a vocal version anywhere to be found? [Edited 3/5/07 20:00pm]

The definitive instrumental version on Jeff Beck's... ...Blow by Blow ...The original vocal version by Syreeta Wright (1974) and then a comp by Hip-O-Select (2004) tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 [Edited 3/5/07 20:49pm] "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. I'm really loving James Taylor "Don't Be Sad Cause Your Sun Is Down" which is co-written by Mr. Wonder
"Don't be sad 'cause your sun is down You can rise above it Don't be sad 'cause you're on your own You have to learn to love it Don't be sad 'cause your sun is down You're gonna find your way Don't be sad 'cause your day is done There's another day, everyday" The harmonica solo is freakin' sublime. At this point in history, we have a choice to make
