Iggy Pop's "Real Wild Child"

I wonder what others think of this song. Iggy is no doubt one of the best ever. Often praised as a performer but an exellent songwriter as well. But I wonder why everyone thinks of his cover of "Real Wild Child". Chartwise, probably one of his biggest hits but it has such a glossy eighties sound with the keyboards...kind of new wave dance after it lost it's edge. However, I love this song by him! It gets played ever so often on the classic alt rock station on Sirius and it's one of the few songs that I won't wonder from (even when a favorite of mine is on I tend to wander because there are so many great choices on Sirius another favorite might trump it). WHat is everyone's opinion of this song...Is it his guilty pleasure track...an excuse to get on the charts?
