my sister used to be a huge Durannie. i remember watching this with her and being all embarrassed at the sexual imagery but at the same time getting turned on by it.

MTV would only play it at night. The Chauffer as well.

A song of theirs. Not really a single (I don't think). If it was it is not one of their bigger hits. I think they mostly just played the video.

Their catalog is worth getting into. Just avoid Libetry and you'll be just fine.

I love DD. I finally got around to buying the Singles 81-85 set. It's nice to have the night versions and the single version of "My Own Way," which should've been on Greatest.

"The Chauffer" is the last song on the Rio cd. One of my all-time fave of theirs. It sounds just as wonderful live. I didn't get to see the video until sometime in the past decade, but I heard a little bit about it. Yeah they were definitely more than some teenybopper 80's band. Some say between that and Girls on film, they were creating soft porn for teens.

Love this cut. I was big on Duran during this period. KROQ out in L.A. wore this out. I dug Duran cuz of their blend of great artists; Funk era Bowie, Roxy Music and Chic.

You have a lot of catching up to do. You should probably start with Greatest. "Planet Earth," "Save a Prayer," "Rio," "Is There Something I Should Know?," "Union of the Snake," "The Reflex," "The Wild Boys," "A View to a Kill," and "Notorious" are some of their biggest hits.
