It was pretty annoying, but I think the fact that the song is all vocal lets it slide a little bit. lol

Well, I love the '80s, so this is quite hard. I actually like most of the songs mentioned (with most of the rest being at least tolerable). I've never been a fan of "Total Eclipse of the Heart," but I wouldn't say I hate it. "Mickey" was a good choice, but I like it in moderation. Anything by Air Supply was also a good choice.

Exactly!!!! I couldn't stand these milktoasted, lame-ass, weak-gaming, pop duo.

I like most songs mentioned. lol

My most annoying:
Motley Crue-Girls,Girls,Girls
We Are the World
Deniece Williams-Let's hear it for the Boy.
Larry Graham-One in a Million

That's all that comes to mind for now.

At least Motley Crue has a very good excuse. They were very drug infested during the time the song was written. Please forgive them! cool

The most annoying song of not just the 80s but of all time is 'Life is Life' by Opus. It is possible this monsterpiece never made an impression outside Europe, and congrats to you if you've managed to miss it.

Oh dear God - i'd forgotten about that, so no thanks for reminding me - truly horrific! Hopefully you were spared the horror that was Black Lace's 'Agadoo':

Am very surprised nobody has mentioned Falco's mastershite: 'Rock Me Amadeus' confused

I can think of a fair few more - including the best song to slit your wrists to: Black's 'Wonderful Life' rolleyes

or how about King's awful 'Love And Pride'? ill

But for me, the award for most annoying song of the 80's goes to bloody Swing Out Sister and their song 'Breakout' Every single thing about them annoyed me, from the vocals, to the clothes, to the f*cking smug grins on their little pasty faces. mad

Ughhh.....THE worst song from the 80's in my opinion. God I hated that f*cking band with a passion. chair

I couldn't find a 'decent' (I use the word lightly) version of their video on youtube, (you can thank me later) so instead here's a video of them all dressed like c*nts on TOTP in 1987 - the year music collapsed like a souffle in an oven.

I love PE, but I still don't see what's so bad about "Don't Worry, Be Happy." Yeah, it was horrendously overplayed back then, but it's a cute song. IIRC, that song taught me what "litigate" meant. smile

Forget about Warrant. I used to love this because of Bobbi Brown, one of the all-time best (if not THE best) video vixen/ho! cool

I love Atlantic Starr, but that song is tacky as hell lol

in the middle of making love,we know it's the time
we both get nervous cause it's way after nine

dumb lyrics, corny chorus, and a bland, adult comtemporary pop sound....much different from those great soulful jams they had in the early 80s.

The 80's was a great decade for music, but I'm sure there was a song or a couple of songs that you just found annoying. This is the thread where you can post the song or songs you did not like, and why.

My number #1 pick for the most annoying 80's song has to be "Mickey" by Toni Basil. I personally cannot stand this song, it sounds like a cheerleader song at a pep rally or something. I remember one Christmas my cousins putting "Mickey" on and singing along. I walked out of the room until the song was over, because I couldn't stand hearing the song, it just annoys me that much. lol I even told my cousins, "If you put that song on, I swear to God, I am leaving this room." But did they listen to me? Oh hell no. lol
