Sanjaya Malakar Safe: Stephanie Edwards, Chris Sligh Could Go Bye Bye

AddThis Social Bookmark Button Expect outrage Wednesday night if DialIdol's predicted finishes come to fruition. According to the American Idol vote monitoring website that measures busy signals for each Idol, Sanjaya Malakar may have the most votes after favorites Melinda Doolittle and Lakisha Jones - both of whom should be very safe.

Malakar was practically laughed off the stage. If he were to stay on Idol, the show risks losing viewers in droves especially if the more talented Stephanie Edwards or Chris Sligh get voted off Wednesday night's show. Both are ranked towards the bottom of DialIdol's results.

Should Chris Sligh be voted off, he would pay out $2500 for every $100 bet at Bookmaker.com (see website here) Bookmaker.com, as part of BetCRIS.com, is the oldest established sportsbook operating offshore since 1985. Stephanie Edwards would pay out $1200 for every $100 bet.

Our own Carrie Stroup had issued concerns throughout the day that Edwards could easily be treated as the red headed step child by those who throw her into the same group as Melinda Dolittle and Lakisha Jones. Her style is similar - musicwise - but the competition is not even close. Ironically, Edwards is one of the more talented in the competition.

Brandon Rogers and Blake Lewis are far from out of the woods either according to DialIdol.com.

Haley Scarnato - who impressed judge Simon Cowell and probably doesn't deserve to be voted off this week - seems to be in somewhat safe territory as did Chris Richardson and Gina Glocksen. Phil Stacey was looking even better and Jordin Sparks seemed to be 4th in number of votes.

Lewis would pay out an amazing $4500 for every $100 bet at Bookmaker.com (see website here) if he were to be eliminated.

Well then, America does not know a talentless kid when they hear him sing. Must be all the teenage girls and the old ladies voting for him or something. smile

Why are you guys taking the show so seriously? Do you actually buy the records of these idol contestants?

It's just a popularity contest. There's no other way it would work. People won't vote for someone they don't like even if she's the better singer. Can't force people to vote in a certain way.

You do realize that you're calling a child a "little shit"... Don't know if you have kids or not, but would you want anyone calling them that?

What exactly did this kid do that's got everyone hating on him?

Ok. I understand that. But is it his fault that he's still there?

I've just seen posts all over the place attacking everything about this guy, his singing, his sexuality, his personality. He's just a 17-year old kid, and already all of America hates him. I know that if I was still 17, and I saw these comments I wouldn't be able to handle it.

Frankly it seems to me like American Idol is exploiting him. I don't think he realized what he was signing up for. The effects of American Idol are going to stick with him for the rest of his life, for better or worse...

I'm sure he paid attention to the other 5 seasons and his parents should have made sure his head was right before consenting. They have to consent when they're under 18. I don't think people really hate him, they just hate that he's there. I think we all understand it's the people voting that allowed him to stay another week. Truthfully, he should have never been in the top 24 and that was the judges decision

Yeah, I suppose you're right.

I'm just really uncomfortable with minors being on any type of reality TV. Moreso than other shows, it feeds on the humiliation of the participants. Adults may be able to handle that. I don't think kids can. Especially with the whole world watching.

This is good for him, though. He can't sing, and shouldn't go on TV to do it. See, it's a valuable life lesson.

I'm actually turning around on him. I almost want him to stay as long as possible, because it's so damn fun/funny every week to see how awful he's going to be. I call it the Fergie Factor.

He should have thought of that before he got his no talent ass on TV to sing. Shame and fear are what keep people sane in the long run shrug

Simon's just gonna get meaner the longer this kid is around. And if you really wanna see him lose his shit, watch Melinda or Lakisha get voted off before Sanjaya. They might just cancel the season.

Last nite the brandon guy lost coz he screwed up he was the worse of the lot! not becasue sanjaya is worse!!

and this past week most of the ppl were just as bad as sanjaya so why only pick on him

I wish this guy wins and then idol will have its final season!! after all its just another cheesy show !!

Howard stern is now supporting sanjaya because he hates the show and wants to interupt the results

I supported him at first because he's a sweet, cute kid, and he lives near me.

But, it is a competition, and I think he's in over his head. He needs to develop his voice before attampting to have a full fledged career. I'm sure he'll get another chance later on.
