Give the kid a break. It's obvious to anyone who watches the show that he's an insecure 17 year old with self esteem issues. His voice is probably one of the only things which makes him feel good about himself.

I know this ain't a popularity contest but it's obvious that he's won over alot of people. He may not have the best voice out of them all but he certainly does have an infectious quality.
