Okay, did they just introduce Beyonce as the Queen of Pop and R&B on The World Music Awards?

it's the freakin' WORLD MUSIC AWARDS. the announcer would refer to HIMSELF as the queen of pop and R&B if it was a slow year.

I can’t find the remote and am too tired to get up and turn the channel. This is the corniest thing I’ve allowed my eyes to see in a long time. It’s like one long Saturday Night Live skit.

Dont get me wrong, I'd date her in a hot second, but up and coming Queen of RB. These shows have writers that get paid tons of dollars to write these things, its nothing more than a catch phrase, or a soundbyte headline.

Wasn't this Ashanti's title at some point? I stopped taking all these ridiculous titles seriously after I heard Ashanti sing live. I'll never forget how much I laughed everytime they would introduce this girl with such a big title and she had only released one album at the time. Man, I wonder what happened to her. In all sincerity, I think the only reason why tese folks bestow those silly titeles on the young person is because the person in question would probably be the most recognized face in international media at them moment, in combination with hitting the pop music charts internationally. When they crossover like that internationally they end up becoming the token celebrity that is on the cover of every fashion and music magazine when they want to approach r&b music. Actually, there are recycled stock photos of that damned Bouncy on my TV guide every other week---the pooling resource is sort of small in terms of using a face evryone will recognize, and that usually only comes once the artist in question has hit all the MTV and radio charts internationally. They always pick one black, white and Latina girl and shove her down our throats ad nauseum for 2 years straight. Couple years ago it was half/half between Ashanti and Cristina Milian. Now its Beyonce, Paris Hilton, and for lack of a Latina singer they just stick Eva Longoria's face on everything...it a cycle, they'll be gone soon hopefully
