lol I love "Walking the Dog"! She was smokin' hot in that video. I like to think of the song as a sort of answer to "La La La He He Hee."

I always thought that Karyn White's "Walkin' the Dog" was some female send-up to George Clinton's "Atomic Dog." To this day, I still refuse to believe that song was created to be a single; I have this wild theory the powers-that-be picked the Vanity 6-styled "Hooked on You" to be the third single on "Ritual of Love," and some intern misread the directions and accidentally picked the song on the album that followed "Hooked on You." biggrin biggrin

I remember the video; the late photographer and stylist Michael Walls helped come up with concept, which was based on a scene from the film "Sweet Charity." I also think the video would have worked for "Hooked on You," but that's wishful thinking. smile smile

Everything after number 9 I‛m clueless on. confused I think my all time favorite Karyn White song is Facts of Love even though that‛s really Jeff Lorber. I love that guitar intro.

10. "Tears of Joy" -- album track from the "Ritual of Love" album
11. "Can I Stay With You" -- last Top 10 hit, from "Make Him Do Right"
12. "Here Comes the Pain Again" -- from "Make Him Do Right"
13. "Disconnected" -- an unreleased song
14. "I'd Rather Be Alone" -- the final single from "Make Him Do Right"

I have her second and third cd. The first one was just too babyfaceish for
me. Jimmy Jam and Terry put a little more bump on her second and third. Man
hooked on you was my shit. I also liked hungah,sweatness is my weakness, and
nobody but my baby. I would like to see her comeback. I did not know her
marriage with terry lewis fell apart. I believe they even had adopted kids.
Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

According to wikipedia, Karyn White married producer/musician Bobby G, a guitarist who has played in her band and with such artists as Mariah Carey, Lionel Richie and Earth, Wind & Fire.

White left Warner Bros. Records in 1995 and currently resides in Sacramento, Calif. She reportedly is working on her first album in more twelve years, tentatively called "Action Fighter."

I'm surprised this compilation doesn't have "Not Through Being With You" from Michael Jeffries and Karyn White. That song was a pretty big hit. It was like the hit she had in between her first cd and 2nd cd.

"Romantic": #1 R&B, #1 Pop
"Superwoman": #1 R&B, #8 Pop
"The Way You Love Me": #1 R&B, #7 Pop
"Secret Rendezvous": #6 Pop (not sure about R&B)
"The Way I Feel About You": #12 Pop (not sure about R&B)
"Facts Of Love": #27 Pop (This was Jeff Lorber featuring Karyn White)

I got all this info from my Billboard book of Top 40 hits. Unfortunately, it only mentions the R&B songs that hit #1 for each artist.

There is a separate Billboard book for R&B Top 40 hits that I would love to get one day.

the excellent also "love saw it" hit #1 on the r&b charts. "Hungah" was also a top40 hit

btw i;m a huge Karyn White fan but have never heard "disconnected" or "all i do" maybe it is an outake from "action fighter" which was supposed to be released last year.

any idea if it gets a uk release?

I cannot wait for this. I hope they use single edits and different remixes. I love Karyn (though Terry Lewis has been quoted as calling her a gold digging bitch).

omg Woah, he did? That's ashame that they are no longer together, they seemed happy together (well, in the beginning of their marriage, anyway). But I do like Karyn's voice, she definitely has talent.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Not sure if they adopted kids (although that is possible). But I know that they had a baby together. It was a girl that they named Ashley, if memory serves me correct. She was a cute baby!

I love Karyn White, she is beautiful. I had this crush on her when I was a kid, I'm 24 now. Anyway, I like her music and it's great to know that a greatest hits is coming out on her. I think that she deserve that. It's also great to hear that she's about to come back out here with another album. Here first since back in 1994, it'll be interesting to hear her now. I wish her the best.

Karyn White's "Secret Rendezvous" peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard R&B singles chart, and "The Way I Feel about You" peaked at No. 5. White's collaboration on "Facts of Love" peaked at No. 17.

Her duet with Babyface on her first album, "Love Saw It," went to No. 1 on the R&B Singles chart. "Do unto Me" from the "Ritual of Love" album went to No. 24, while "Hungah" (No. 18) and "Can I Stay with You" (No. 10) were from the "Make Him Do Right" album.
