TORI AMOS' "Bouncing Off Clouds" sounds like an amalgamation of Y Kant Tori Read With a zest of Kate Bush! OMG!
This song is better than sex! It's so Kate Bush (circa Hounds of Love album)...so yummy! And also it has a Y Y Kant Tori Read vibe to it! Tori Thanks you for delievering this! I love you! [Edited 3/5/07 9:26am]

The song is totally TOP imo! I agree! I never listen to clips ahead of time, but my friend convinced me too. I'm loving both songs, but especially this one.

i don't hear kate bush at all. definitely y kant tori read, though, which is funny because a few days ago i totally busted that record out. then i heard this stuff. clouds is very late 80s, but in the good way.

It's a bit too rocking for Kate, don'tcha think? yeah, its just a totally different sound. far too pop to be anything near kate bush. and not nearly as avante garde as she can be.

These 2 clips are among the most accessible and upbeat songs Tori's done since "Cornflake Girl".

hmm. to me it sounds like the woman who recorded the beekeeper
and is reaching for a different sound. it's reaching both back (everybody else's girl) and forward in a way, but it's still got one foot firmly planted in TBK era. sounds like typical transition material to me. i hope the rest of the album has more of an edge. i'd like to be forced to listen, to be challenged by a tori album. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I like both the new tracks although Bouncing Off Clouds is definately the better of the two.
People are acting all shocked at how commercial she's sounding... did you not hear "Sweet The Sting" or "Cars & Guitars"? She's been pushing that adult contemporary commercial stuff for a while now...

She's been pushing that adult contemporary commercial stuff for a while now... that's what i'm saying. these tracks feel like a continuation of the beekeeper to me much more than a departure into something new. i really hope the album sounds more stripped down or at least has some really edge electronic glitches and stuff. i just really don't like these kinda tori songs. even with more bitchy lyrics they still sound so sweet and poppy. perhaps with tori i will turn into what many prince fans have become, always complaining about the new stuff and forever hailing the golden years, before this and that blablabla i certainly hope not. but i'm beginning to be scared it might be like that. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

i guess i'm not hearing this adult contemporary shift on the beekeeper that you're speaking of. i mean, cars and guitars, sweet the sting, and martha's foolish ginger could be played on adult contemporary but so could everything from little earthquakes, 1000 oceans, cornflake girl, etc.
then i hear witness, hoochie woman, barons of suburbia, mother revolution, the beekeeper, original sinsuality, and marys of the sea and i'm like, "really? adult contemporary?" but maybe i just think of something else when i hear adult contemporary. i think recent elton john and recent rod stewart, sounds like that.

I don't think these songs sound anything like Scarlet or Beekeeper. More like "Cornflake Girl". They definitely have an upbeat rock edge.
