What ever happened to Marilyn Manson?

I had never recognized that Rose "Paige" McGowen was Marilyn's ex-fiance, though I was beginning to see her here and there in other t.v. shows (besides 'Charmed'), nothing special but making a steady living. When I found out she was the same person in the famous red carpet barely-there "spider" dress I was kind of shocked. Then I wondered whatever happened to him, because the last I heard they had gotten married, but it seems they didn't. From my prospective it's like poof he disappeared and now she's on the rise.

i think he has a new album out - i forget the title, but i think it has an alice in wonderland connotation, if i remember correctly.

it's supposed to be a departure for MM - there's going to be a lot of theatricalism and a "hard edge" this time. i can't imagine such a thing.

MM is going through a divorce from burlesque artist Dita Von Teese (they married a little over a year ago). He and Rose broke up several years ago, and were never wed.

His last full-length album was The Golden Age Of Grotesque. He then released a greatest hits package in 2004 entitled Lest We Forget...The Best of Marilyn Manson. His last released song, in October of 2006, was a cover of "This Is Halloween", for the bonus disc in the anniversary edition of The Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack. He is currently in the studio, working on a new album that will hopefully be released later this year.

Oh, Dita Von Teese is who I'm confusing the red carpet event with. No wonder I didn't really recognize the face.

I wonder if I've heard his version of "This Is Halloween", loved the movie, but I have the first version not the anniversary edition. Well, good he's hanging in there. Thanks for the info.

Actually, his new album is tenatively titled Eat Me, Drink Me. Seems there might be something to the rumours of an Alice In Wonderland theme.

He got fat and recorded his 40th goth-rock cover version of some song.

nod

No seriously. He really is fat these days. Marilyn Manson looks really stupid with extra weigth.

He looked really bad during the last festival tour. Double chin and everything. You know how marilyn doesn't really have much of a chin anyway? To be honest people were laughing at him a bit.

The NMBC cover I thought was pretty damn horrible. You can still watch a live version of it on youtube I think. Judge for yourselves. He's gone a long way from "The Beautiful People" (a genuinely good song) to what he is today. From fascinatingly disgusting character to just boring and embarrassing.

Well, I've yet to see any pics of him where he is fat, but it's possible.

As for the cover of "This Is Halloween", I personally loved it! I didn't care for his version of "Personal Jesus", but I thought TIH was actually pretty cool.
