Miles Davis - Agharta Does anyone know if this (and Pangaea, too) will come out as a decent new remaster soon? I want to get these as I have read many great thigns about them and absolutely love Miles' electric stuff. I wold wait a couple of months though, in case there's anything coming. Those 1991 remasters doesn't sound too well, unfortunately. A little flat.

They've already been remastered (Agharta, Pangaea & Dark Magus - if you want the trifecta).
You've just gotta be ready to pay import (Japan) prices though. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

I've got no clue whether these are "different" remasters. According to the info on the sites where they're available... ...Agharta (2000), Pangaea (2001), Dark Magus (2006) tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. At all costs, avoid the domestic reissues. They sound flat and edits shortened THINGS. Get the JAP obi strip cds oR vinyl. test

'Agharta' - the Black Prince in full effect. Pete Cosey
I wish Cosey had recorded a lot more - all I know he's done beyond Miles off the top of my head is that 'interesting' Muddy Waters 'Electric Mud' lp and an appearance on one of Herbie Hancock's Bill Laswell-produced '80s albums. I also believe he was/ is in some Electric Miles tribute band, but if they've recorded, they're not widely distributed. He's one of the inheritors of the Hendrix 'sqwuawkk' - sound/ feedback as music.

They are costly but damn well worth it. I am trying to get EVERYTHING Miles that way.I am having to re-purchase cd's just to get the best possible sound quality. I cherish them so much, though. I wish Prince would have that system used on his back catalogue.Damn, it makes a huge difference. Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "I'm a pig..so,magic elixir I swill"
