Thank you for posting that. Never knew Jeffrey was the cat behind all that stuff for MJ. He can still dance.
Wasn't he married to Stephanie Mills for a little while?

More Complex What is more complex about it in the Motown 25? That was when he sprung it on the white public. Because it was already on soul train in the 1970's. Michael Chambers "Turbo" from the Breakin'movies made it more complex, with turns and twists in the middle of it. While at the sametime MJ was still going straight backwards. I think all MJ did was call The Backslide, the moonwalk, even though a totally different dance more was called the moonwalk.

Remember when Jeffrey said he saw the dance coup, The Electric Boogaloo, do the moonwalk first before he learn it? Guess what? Michael "Turbo" Chambers was one of the founders of that dance coup, meaning that HE did the moonwalk first!

As a bboy, I can small differences in Jeffrey's and Michael's versions "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

They originated in Fresno, CA in the 70s. Michael "Boogaloo Shrimp" (not "Turbo") Chambers is from Los Angeles. In addition to that, and to the best of my knowledge, Chambers was much too young to have been a founder of The Electric Boogaloos. ..."think from a positive place, and eliminate the negative fate"...

Although I think Turbo is so much cooler!

Oprah: How did you, first of all, you know we've spent so much time trying to dispel the rumors, trying to get the truth out that I haven't had a real opportunity to talk to you about how you conceive your music, how you conceive the dance. Where did the Moonwalk come from?
Michael: Well, the Moonwalk came from these beautiful children, the black kids who live in the ghettos, you know, the inner cities, who are brilliant, that just have that natural talent for dancing any of these new, the running man, any of these dances. They come up with these dances, all I did was enhance the dance.

Ha! That was great. Good seeing Jeffrey set the record straight. He treated Steph Mills like crap but I guess they both got over it. (The Smooth Criminal video was by far the best video Mike ever did.) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
